.308 chest rig for 25 rnd mags.

Just picked up a Galil Ace in .308 but canít find a chest rig to hold the Magpul 25 round mags. Any leads? Thanks!

There are basically 2 ways to deal with this. 1st is get a molle "plate" carrier type of rig & buy the mag pouches separately for it. 2nd, a lot of the Marom Dolphin rigs that you can find on places like E Bay or Zahal that state they are for 5.56 will hold the SR25 pattern mags. They are pricey but hold up well.

Just a number of examples. Amazon has a wide variety of rigs to choose from. I'm sure something there will fit your needs.

Try olongapoutfitters.com they have some good quality products. I use them on several guns, Uzi, p90, Ar, Galil and Sig 716

    Thanks guys!

Hmmm... I have a Dolphin vest, I’ll have to try the mags in it.

I used a Tactical Tailor MAV and their 308 mag pouches.

They are usually tight, but will hold 2 mags per pouch. All of mine always have.

May not matter to you at all, but Chest Pouches are no good at all for reloading while prone!

if i remember right the old canvas AK chest rigs will hold a 30rd HK91 mag in each pocket.--I've got one that that is double mag deep that will hold 6 30rd HK 308 mags, wish I could find a few more those.

Yeah there is always a down side to everything. Nothing out there will meet all needs. Me, I still prefer a chest rig.

Think some of the South African chest rigs were .308 mag sized for the FALs

Yep, the 25 rounders fit no problem in the Dolphin. I ordered another one from Olongapo, just a simple rig.
