Well the Smith I’ve been using called and said the steel plate was too damn hard and he broke bits just drilling the pilot holes to thread... This is puzzling to me but maybe they were hardened by the plasma cutting.. in any case I’ll pick those parts up tomorrow and work on a plan B!

I picked up the plate and it literally has three pilot holes and fourth hole with a drill but tip embedded in it.. may just replace this piece with some wood furniture and mount the grips onto that- this will allow me to get this to the range for our final SMG match of the year. More to follow, hopefully full assembly this weekend!

Getting the trigger rod assembly right. .25 steel rod, drilled holes for pins (paper clips). Have one hole to drill, to tighten up the trigger pull- next test assembly will Include both bolts.

Welded the tubes today - the KNS pins come in handy when you have two MACs mounted close together- everything in pairs!

Once the tubes were welded up it’s a nice fit- and rock solid. On track to hit the range on Saturday - the forecast is looking good.

New trigger tube- a little longer, cut from copper pipe to shorten the pull. I’ll put the bolts in tomorrow morning.

Bolts in- pull the trigger bar, both bolts close. Had a KNS pin fail almost immediately. I recognize I’m asking them to perform some heavy duty work- the tension from two mounted SMGs is adding some additional pressures versus what you would have with a typical upper. I was able to wrestle it out and get the bolts in. This is now ready to hit the range tomorrow morning.

You bet, that would be awesome. The wife said we gotta do a slow motion video to get all the brass raining down. I like the way she thinks!

Hahah gotta love Marty... but it should shoot straight enough.. at a moderate range!

The shrouds will need to be pinned in place. Weíll stick with DMAC (dual Mac).
