If these do come up for sale will they will require an adapter? If so where would a person get one?

They do not require an adapter. However, the death card allows for quicker mag changes, as the mag doesn’t bind by getting sideways in the mag well (handy if you are shooting competition). There will likely be a very short run of these, as they are very labor intensive to make. RetroEngraving can be contacted directly via messaging here. He will be more than happy to sell you a death card adapter, and can answer your questions with regard to the mags...

As someone who has one 50 round and two 40 round Uzi stick magazines, none of which have been used in over five, probably closer to ten, years, I am no fan of a "monopod" stick magazine. I'd be in for a couple 30 round Z "S" mags though. For higher capacity than 30-33 rounds, drums are the way to go.

    MHO, YMMV, etc. Be well.

Biden is president everyone wants everything for free. Go buy them at the other place. Oh wait there isn’t another place. Coffin $150 then new springs which I think are limited supply. Just my opinion. Maybe shockwave will start giving them away again. My opinion and quack quack where is the rain!

Easy there pardner. Nobody has been raped yet...but I'll let you know how bad it hurt if it does happen. I hope I'm not coming across as a douche, but people put a lot of effort into projects like this so you have stuff to play with. Here's a list off the top of my head:
Buy and experiment on some perfectly good mags to see if the idea works, while wasting lots of time and ammo
Buy a bunch of mags at $50-something + shipping
Disassemble and remove finish for weld prep
Buy metal for tabs + shipping
Design and figure out how to hold/machine the tabs
    Machine the tabs
Design and build alignment fixture for welding tabs
Tig weld the tabs tabs on
Drive around trying to locate an argon refill half way thru...cuz covid(?)
Cut feed lips to the new angle
Re-form, adjust and measure feed lips
File & polish burrs off feed lips
    Clean, sandblast and clean again
    Apply some finish coating
Bake/cure coating for a couple hours
    Clean again
    Reassemble
    Function test them all
    List product
    Answer questions
    Argue with guys on internet
    Hopefully sell something
Acquire packing materials, then pack, buy postage, print shipping labels
Spend some quality time in a mask at the post office
Hope nothing gets lost in the mail...
All of this is done at risk -- something can foul up at any step of the process
Then we get hit with sales taxes, credit card fees, listing fees and to top it all off: income taxes.
All for a dozen mags for you.
    You're welcome.

    Well said
Most don't get what it takes to bring any of this to a very limited market and then they cry about costs. Thing about it is they would probably be your worst customer and now you don't have to worry about them buying anything that is the good part

Well I guess itís not over priced for TWO mags because thereís already a bidder.

Iím sure there will be more bidders but time will tell.

Post a video of them running and Iím sure thatíll help them sell and link the video to the funbroker website.

Hey, I apologize, didn't intend to single anyone out, it just gets frustrating sometimes.

There's probably well over a week's labor in these, so at $150/pc I might clear like $40 per unit when all is said and done -- assuming nothing gets lost or returned/broken; and gotta replace a dull cutter, and a broken bandsaw blade, wear and tear, software maintenance contracts, printer filament, typical overhead & etc... It's just not real profitable servicing a tiny portion of a niche market. The shockwave guy (sorry don't recall his name) in the end may have lost money on the ZMAG-Ss...and waited how long for the privilege?

So the point is some of us do this mostly because we love designing shit. Can't not do it.

What are they worth? I dunno, but I got bills to pay just like you. And why on earth would somebody spend 6 or 7 thousand bucks on what is maybe a $200 collection of poorly manufactured sheet metal and machined parts? Then a bunch more for a super nice upper? Then hundreds or thousands on ammo and range fees to get it all working well?

    It's just what we do.

Well, not me, I can't afford one, haha. But I know someone who can, and I'm just trying to help him be more competitive.

I know these are not for everyone, but if you want Performance, to not have to deal with reliability issues, or futzing with antique parts and then tossing them on the ground during practice and competition, these might be a solution for ya.

Retro, I would gladly pay $150 each for 3 units and a death card. As a business owner I know the value of time. Don't listen to the uniformed thank god we are capitalist.

Hopefully economy of scale kicks in at some point if enough people want the product.

Would use my UPS number and pay you directly. No fees or shipping cost.

I got 2 of the z-31 mags and the death card adapter from retro yesterday. The mags are professionally done. I’m waiting for the upper before I can try them but don’t see any reason that they wouldn’t work. Thank you retro. I have a mini mill and have some experience tig welding but I couldn’t come close to this quality.
