Want to lean more about old mac accessories

My mac came with a few oddities I've never been able to find again to learn about. The primary one I have questions about is the charging handle/optic mount. The previous owner hacked off the rear sight and installed an AR style charging handle/pic rail thing. It clamps onto the gun with set screws. I'll try to post a pic this evening.

What is this thing? Who made it?

I sold one like what you are talking about. It is a horrible design and probably falls off easy with just set screws. I will try to find pics of it.

"The Terrifying Three" by Duncan Long has some accessory related information for members of each of the three families of firearms (Uzi, Ingram, and Intratec).

    ....
The Intratec is a Scorpion, the predecessor brand name to the TEC-22. Same gun - different name.

It came loose once. Some loctite on the screws and it's holding. The design is pretty bad but the optic that was on the gun when I bought it was a $20 airsoft piece of junk and wasn't even mounted securely. It wobbled around like a bobblehead.

Is there a better option as I no longer have a rear sight?

It depends on what gun you have.

You can get something like this
    http://stormwerkz.com/scope-mounts/m...y-scope-mount/

Or weld on a new sight like this

It should have been able to fit with the rear sight plate on. Not sure why someone cut it, can you post pics?

Looks like the charging handle would hit the rear sight.

Sorry for the delay. This is mine. Never mind the way the optic is mounted. I need to mill a center slot in it so I can mount a proper optic where it should be.

Expensive gun to go cutting off the sight. I wish the previous owner would have found a better way.

Me too. When the previous owner purchased it it was still probably a $200 sheet metal gun. Doesnt bother me a ton as I usually run my Max10/31.
