These things are .230, looks like you could install em into the folders of your choice. A bit spendy though as they're tritium.

The flip leaf above is threaded "mil-spec" for standard A2 and will not be TROY compatible.


They do have one that is TROY friendly though, but it's not 0.230. It has a U notch over the small aperture and the ghost ring aperture is 0.200 https://www.xssights.com/Detail.aspx...93121&CAT=8276

Having the U notch over the small aperture seems good in theory, but probably isn't in actual practice. Its going to create tendency for the notch and aperture to blur as one deep notch for many.


Maybe call Troy or Magpul to see if you can get a replacement flip leaf and use it as your test subject to confirm if you even really like a more open ghost ring. Or a cheap budget rear as a test donor would work too. Plenty to be found cheap on eBay.

Thanks guys for the help. I think reaming out the rear is the best option. I was about to buy that xs sight, glad you pointed out it was not Troy compatible!

Also it seems like the Magpul MBUS is not a good option because it's square and as I ream it out it's going to start to look weird

I would caution to be careful how much you open that ring. If you make the ring wall too thin, you can potentially lose the ring altogether in your sight picture due to blur. Test your sight picture in increments. If you encounter point where you notice you have gone far enough that you start losing it too much in blur, I would advise stopping here.

Bought chinese sights and they were garbage. Very good looking Troy knockoffs but with standard aperture, but the rail mating surfaces were machined so poorly you could never get a reliable mounting.

I use these (cheap Chinese units) https://www.amazon.com/Goyea-Tactica...852YVPN5&psc=1 and they work pretty well and are decently robust. If you look around you can find them in different colors and prices.

You can drill out your existing MBUIS rear sight to whatever diameter you wish, from just a bit bigger to Ghost Ring.

Yeah, I've done that on certain guns. Easy and effective.
