Happy New Year Especially Those Waiting For A Positive Determination

Happy New Year to be Uzitalk Mac style family. Here's hoping that all those here and those dear to them have a Safe, happy, and prosperous New Year. And to those wanting on a positive determination so they can sell their products, hopefully they will receive them soon.

I saw 'positive determination' and thought about someone hoping that they tested positive for Covid-19. Jeez what a crappy year it's been.

Happy (and happIER) 2021 to everyone around the world. Let's hope that the BATFE Tech Branch determinations are forthcoming early in the year.

Thank you Matt. For 2021 to be worse, I would need to get cancer or be in a disfiguring accident. 2020 has been the most challenging year of my life. I certainly hope 2021 will straighten out at the BATF&E, but I doubt it.

This past year was really rough. The next few years are going to be really tough for the 2A community. I sure hope Iíll be able to find / afford primers in the next two years.

Yeah it’s pretty sweet so far. I’m curious does anyone know the last time ANY NFA determination was issued for a new product?

The last three were the Akins Accelerator, the bump stock, and the pistol brace.

No.. I think you’re mistaken. The AA12 semiautomatic shotgun was in there too, and much more recently then Atkins!

The last thing I recall seeing from the tech branch was the change in classification of the fostechs to an sbs. For things approved, lage max 11/15 was the last thing I recall seeing approved. I honestly don't think we will ever see an approval of an accessory or anything else. After atf got it handed to them in court with the ar15 lower not actually meeting the firearm I believe they have reconsidered giving any advice or determinations to anyone. Along with all this brace b's you better believe they are gonna give us the finger right back.

...and someone from Harris-Biden's office just needs to make a call and the slowly moving machinery stops completely. Probably already has.

You’re probably right or close to it- Max-15 was one of the last approvals.

Manufacturers better pursue a way to sell uppers without a determination letter.. or find new jobs. No one had to take that right away, but it appears to have been voluntarily surrendered.

I’m ready to spend money on an upper, but have given up on waiting for approval that won’t happen.

I honestly don’t understand why Lage wouldn’t release his uppers that are based on an approved 11/15 upper.

ETA: The Tenko was approved with a different material too. I understand covering your ass, but it would be an arguable defense in a worst case scenario.

But it’s not my money, business, or butt on the line.
I appreciate the money, effort, and time put into these products. I’d like to be able to spend my money in support of these efforts. I respect being cautious and understand the times we are in.

Doing so presents a risk, not doing so is absolute defeat.

Some risks aren't worth taking, especially if your business, family and employees could lose everything if you fail.
