Now that I think about it I wanna do it just for kicks!

By the way, the machinist that did mine said he'd do a batch if there were 10 interested buyers, but of course his fee would be on top of the cost of the upper. Get 12 people that are ready to go, and I'll ask him for a fee quote.
Lage might sell the uppers sans the bolt for a little cheaper? Dunno

Anybody use one an Ares stock with their Mac? I heard that they were supposed to be better than the original wire stock back in the day.

I would like one. I have a small magwell M11A1 waiting on a stamp and I missed out on the MAX-11A1/380 uppers before they got discontinued, and they seem to be impossible to find now.

The OEM upper with the CFW A bolt is really fun.
The short SK upper with the CFW A bolt would be too.

The holster thread has me wanting to take the machine pistol out this weekend.

That could get a little pricey for the 380 SK. Where would the 380 guys get the 5 3/4 barrels?

    I count 8/4 so far

As I understand it, we get an SK for the m11, and his gunsmith chops the rear and mills the slot and the inset (the angle part)

The SK does not come with a bolt. You could use the 380 bolt if you could get your own 380 barrel, or the CFW bolt in 9mm.

The cost above the SK would
    Be the gunsmith millwork.

    Do we have 4 more?

380 would require you to get a max11/380 barrel and chop it.

We would have to see if Lage has any replacement max-11a1/380 barrels, and or if he’d barrel 4 in 380 instead

Gaujo, what does the ejection port side look like on your chopper?

I’ll coordinate the transaction but there’s a wait and / or might not make unless there’s enough for a run for the SK.

Can you ask the gunsmith his per gun conversion cost (chop and mill to fit the m11a1)? If we have 10-12…

Lage 380 8” barrels if he has them or they can source them.

Full size ejection port. If he will even do the run, I'm 99% sure .380 barrel alterations would not be on the table. I'd suggest if you really want one, you'd live with the larger port, ask Lage if he would ship you one with one of the longer .380 barrels, and have the barrel cut on your own later.

    UPDATE:

In contact with Jackie, they are doing a run of SKs in the next 6-8 months.

She'd need to know within the next month or so on how many are needed. They do not have 380 barrels, but said a gunsmith could convert it. That would be an extra cost to the 380 owners, and they won't do that.

Gaujo, did you inquire with your machinist on how much to chop and mill the upper if we had 10 or so? I can inquire with Tina to see if Sam could convert the 380 barrels, or make a longer 5-3/4" 380 to fit. TINA said if there was enough barrel land they could for $60 plus s/h

I've also inquired: if not, then could they make one to length....awaiting. That might be a better option bc then you'd have both barrels.

Lawbob, while my machinist friend is quite good, you can't beat Sam as he can do the barrels as well. Let me know if you really want me to ask him.

The SK upper is attractive to me at the price point it's offered. Every time we add to the price it becomes less attractive to me. If it became available at the existing price point, turn key. I would buy one.

This is my take as well. It's on the site at $525. Double that is a firm "no," with a lot of grey area in between. I'm certainly interested in hearing more.

Ok. It would be easier for your machinist to do it. We all love Sam but that would save another trip for the 380 guys.

    What we need is

Cost to convert the upper to m11a1
Cost to convert the barrel to 380 (for the 3-5 who want)

I prefer Sam spend his time on the 22 project we will be buying!
