What is Wrong With These M11 Mags

    Hello all:

I was testing my extra mags and these will go in with some effort and lock but you need two hands to pull them out!!!
anyone know what these are? I guess i could take an angle grinder and reduce the excess friction

Maybe these are the ones Recon Ordnance made from other subgun mags

Those are Shockwave Technologies Z-MAGs. Quality control has been hit or miss over the years. The new owners who bought the company and dies had some troubles with QC the first few batches they made.

I forgot to mention that some of the M11/9 grips were too small from the manufacturer/SWD. Some grips were so tight that many of the Zytels, PAM2 and ZMAGS would be too tight. Sam at Practical Solutions offers a service to expand or stretch the grips.

Harris, if you don’t want to grind or stretch anything, get in touch with Shockwave and they’ll take care of you. They’re aware of the issue and will replace your mags. They took care of a dozen of mine last summer.

They changed out my 30 rounders too. The 50s fit fine, but the 30s were really tight.

yeah, when these mags were first made available years ago, the reviews I read from people on the various gun boards that had these mags indicated fitting problems, so I didn't take a chance of buying one.

my intention was to make a 70round M11 drum, since these were made of steel and could be welded on a SUOMI drum.
