Hold open device
The Yugoslavian mags I have for my AK keep the bolt open after the last round is fired. Is there such a mag out there for the 5.56 mm Galil (Golani)? If not, would an AR-15 mag conversion do the trick? Thanks for your help.

The AR mag adapter/conversion does not make a difference, at least the MSA's don't anyway. Never seen a Galil mag with that feature either. Maybe the new Tapco's rumored to be coming out will have the option? Who knows.

The original mag adapter does not hold the bolt open either.

The question is how do they hold the bolt open? In my M76 the mags also hold the bolt open but they do it because of the follower being to high. Because of the force that the bolt slams into the follower, the follower will wear down and eventually be useless. Not sure how the availability of your mags is overthere but M76 mags are difficult to get overhere so I'm not happy with this feature.

I have a huge o-ring that I slip over the stock that keeps the bolt carrier back when I'm cleaning the rifle. If that helps.

They use the follower too. I have some ak mags that do it and the detachable SKS mags do too. I dont care for it either. Beats the followers up. |

Before everything tanked in July, MSA and Cobra Customs was about to start beta testing a LRBHO device for the Saiga platforms....... and.......
Guess what else. This LRBHO was to be used with all the MSA adapters..... just a small FYI.

pricing and availability to come as soon as all testing and R&D is complete. Also we have a huge back log to fill on the adapters and want to get caught up first.

If that's the case, I'm just going to order one of your current adapters as long as you said the hold open device would retrofit to it in the future. Thanks. |

Just keep in mind we are focusing on getting our adapter backlogs completed first.
