Masterpiece, with rail- parkerized, now shiny- new thing?

I sent in my MPA30SST in for repair (that's another story). I noticed that the rail on top is now anondized aluminum, and not the same parkerized finish as the one on the original upper which was replaced.

Does anyone know if masterpiece doesn't parkerize their scope mounts/rails any longer?

It looks out of place- it looked much better prior.

Also, the welding on the bottom is sloppy.. Not very happy, but it fires like it used to again.

Question 2; where can I get full uppers like the one in the photograph above, I used the search feature and everything is a dead link (stoneycreek, etc.).

and as for the top rail its bc they switched to alloy so they cant parkerize them, they have to annodize... get accessories that match the rail.. give it that two-tone look ... try usmachinegun.com, mike over there makes awesome stuff and good prices... that should keep ya busy haha

Thanks, I didn't know I couldn't get a different looking upper for the semi auto; I'll check out that website, I'm sure I'll find a few goodies.

As far as the anodized, I miss that parkerized look. It looked tougher, and mean. Now it looks like there is a big lego stuck on top.

Do the MPA side-charging uppers come available WITHOUT the rail? (I know, I know, what's the point? I'm just curious)

Is the rail easily removable?

If you want to get a better look for the rail, try stripping it and Ceramacoat with flat black, I did it for the shiny thread protector on my Steyr SPP 9.

powder coating is baked at about 440 degrees and gets tacky at a lower temp on guns, duracoat or ceramacoat is the way to go.

Lage Mfg is working on a semi upper for the semi M-11/9. I do not know if he has plans for the M-10 series, but as long as there is not an issue with the Tech Branch I cannot see why he would not make one.

Sorry for my ignorance, but I am not certain what a MPA30SST. I know it is a semi-automatic manufactured by Masterpiece Arms, but other than that I do not know which design it follows M-11, M-11/9, M-10...

the mpa 9mm is roughly a $400-500 gun so adding a Lage $800+ upper is going to be a tough sell, but it will look cool

My full auto M-11/9 was a $450.00 gun + transfer tax, so the upper was a hard sell for me also. Not really, I just had to try one and I was sold.

Go to the thread below and check out post 15 shooter number 27. He was shooting a semi auto Max-11. I understand there has been quite a bit of interest in them.
