IMHO you should save up for the 16. You can shoot both rifle & pistol calibers with a less than 30 second change over. More important you can shoot .22! I like the UZI for the quick barrel change, .45, 9mm, and .22 drop in kits, and the size. HK MPs are 9mm only. Then you have to get rifle hosts... $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
I had an HK SP89 and a an HK94 (that I paid $275 for). The 94 I had Wild Bill Fleming convert to a perfect MP5 replica SBR, down to the German 3-lug bbl. and an S-E-F lower housing with simulated push pins. It was cool, and I sold it and the SP89 for big $$$ to get real sheen guns. Viva UZI & M16. YMMV

Due to the deals CA has right now, I just ordered a CA94 SBR.
It was 1075.00 delivered.... So if it sucks, I'll just have to get the IGF clone people have recommended.... Knowing me, I may get the IGF anyway. But hey, it was close enough to my bday and at least *I* think I am worth it. |

If you want the most inexpensive full auto, buy a MAC. With a slow fire kit ($1,000 to $1,500 plus optics) you can compete with the top notch closed bolt subguns. If you want what many consider "The" best subgun get yourself some form of MP5. I've got a Vollmer converted HK94 with 3-lug, paddle mag release, and Flemming sear in a SEF pack. I also have a Colt 9mm carbine lower set up to take my DIAS and either a DOE or 10.5" subgun upper. I spent a lot of time with spring and buffer combinations. I've not gotten the Colt, which with the sear is about as close as you can get to a factory Colt 9mm subgun, as smooth as possible. But it is not quite as smooth as the MP5 sear gun. I need to try shooting my MP5 sear gun with my .45 ACP direct impingement upper with my MGI lower. I'm not really sure which one is smoother.

No way in hell I am putting 12K in a sear. If I did have 12K to burn, I would just buy a complete M16 and shoot pop cans with the CA89 from Coharie. That is just absurd for a sear. If I had 12K to throw away, why not just throw 12 more in and get a real HK MP5 transferable?

Fortunately a lot of people think like you, and that helps keep prices down. MGs were the best investment I have ever made, and certainly the most fun. For example, in 2001 I bought a $35,000 truck, and a sear for $3000. Truck has gone down in valuer 80%, while the sear is worth 4x more. I learned my lesson, so I am still driving the same old truck, and the $30K-$50K that would have gone into a replacement truck instead went into more machine guns.

I would not call a 9000 dollar increase in price over 8 years keeping prices down. Just sayin. Sorry, I dont have 50K to blow on MG's. And right now if I did have 50K, the last thing I would buy would be a MG. My daughter needs to go to college, I need a new truck, my house needs remodeling, the list is endless. I know they are an investment but once I buy a firearm for personal use, I have a real problem turning them loose to gain my money back! I guess the best thing for me to do is go ahead and apply for my class II SOT, and then maybe I might get to own one for a minute before I have to sell it and recoup my money. Dont get me wrong, if I had the money, and had no debt, I would not hesitate to stock up too! At least someone is having fun! |

garandman you going to hard on HK yes it has problems and yes the "F@ck civilians" attitude is not cool i totally agree with you but many good guns have H&K on side, usp compact in 9 is very nice (cost 200 more than deserved) SOCOM is nice pistol not for military but for PPL that don't have to ran all day in jungle and have large tactical holster + hands like me (the LAM for mk 23 is absolutely stupid i have one and its large POS i don't see how i can possibly do anything good with it its so F big and lite is so small and laser is POS and damages your none auto gated gen3 NV after 30mints exercise ) yeah almost 2k for pistol is crazy but i have 2 and no am not SF ninja am average SOB i have it in my glove compartment i like it because its reliable 45 and you can easily shot it with one hand because of low recoil also you can always find it fast under all the crap because of its size (1911 need love and oiling every 3 moths and am not fan of sig220so hk it is). MP5 is nice SMG I love my mp5k its handy and easy to handle with 15rnd mag in car or in house, i like my mp5 i have 3 its nice accurate easy to handle and reliable if its clean and i have no problems after 300rnds unlike some smg's (colt smg with DEA upper am looking at you) i have lots of eastern block guns i love, i have 6 ak's (yes all FA and "yes am crazy live me alone i have gun ") the ak 105 and 74 are nice so is Valmet 76 and 78 in its larger 7.62x39 caliber but the ak56(762x39) and aks74u(5.45) is POS yeah it works but dame the sound the flash and the recoil in 56 is simply unacceptable if i want a true battle rifle i go for ak74 if i wont smg mp5 or mp5k (if its for CCW/in the car) if i have chose i got for my favorite colt 10"H M4 with H2 buffer and EOTECHo and don't be hard on G3 yeah FAL is nice and yes DSA or Belgian Para FAL is nicer then G3 but not as reliable and i personally have only one g3 its sear g3k with full Stock and if i have to shot it behind cover like the engine of my car the person on the other side is going to sh%t himself (the modern g3 collapsible Stock is really a POS second worst stocks in world (s&w 76 am looking at you) the original one was ok but try to find one in US the full stock g3 is to dame long for car but g3k is nice with exemption of flash, it can blind you in dark with easy the sound is loud as hell but its 308 so you can survive and if you inside house or parking garage bring mp5sd (full stock) or you well lose all your hearing after 1st shot ps H&K 53 is cool as hell not is nice like m4 but dame cool |
