So I finally got my micro back today and tried out the .22 kit from Troy. Was using several BDM's I purchase a couple months ago and was shooting CC mini mag exclusively. Unfortunately, could not get more than a few small bursts had FTE, double feeds and mostly, FTE.

When I pulled down on the mags slightly and applied forward pressure it seemed to work a little better.

Been reading the posts about the BDM issues and wondered what has been resolved with them? What has worked to fix the most common problems with the mags?

Must say, when the kit did run a few bursts it was a blast, especially being a micro.

Would love to get thru a mag without 5-8 stoppages.

Guys trying to follow this thread as I have mine but never opened it to try it because of some issues. Troy is there anything I will need to do prior to assembing and firing the kit. Is there a common problem I need to look for? Looking to save some time and effort, also I had Troy thread my barrel. Has anyone used a can? If so does the kit need to be tuned differently with and w/o a can?

Its taken quite a while but I final had my 3rd outing with the kit. First time I found when I got to the range that the rod for the kits was too long to fit in the Micro....so I had to use a 9mm spring. It ran fast but worked with some ammo...some stopages.....semi didn't seem to "work".

Took it to Maine for a shoot over the summer, cut the rod for the new springs. It didn't work hardly at ALL. I was using "hot" .22lr from Aguila (sp). At that time .22 was VERY hard to find. Anyway....apparently this ammo doesn't work well in the kit.

So tonight....tried for the 3rd time. With the ammo that worked the first time but now with the lighter spring included in the kit. Wow...very cool. Semi worked and full auto dumps worked. I didn't try bursts though. I had some stoppages.....but pretty minimal with a couple of great vector mags with the BD spring upgrade. Another vector mag didn't seem to work right....seemed to be a spring/follower issue. A forth mag fed very well...but didn't not eject well.

So far my experience is that the following rounds work Great:

Remmington Thunderbolts
CCI mini mags
Remmington Golden bullet value pack

What didn't
Wincester "X" I think they were called super X but they were weak
Agaula (supposedly the "hottest" .22lr around) didn't work

I will admit that I didn't do extensive testing with the aguila....maybe if I had used the better mags exclusively....who knows.

Once I get my barrels threaded by BarrelXchange I check with the suppressor...the extra back pressure may allow weaker ammo to run....we'll see.

Again....all Vector mags here.....need to send the BD mags back to barrelXchange to be modified.

I'll try to take a video at some point....but it may be awhile.

Just thought I would share another experience.

Thanks again for all the hard work Troy!!!

I gotta send you the mags and the barrel.

Update us on the glock lower when you can!!!

Smile SUCCESS!!! My micro .22 kit is running!!!

Big thanks for Troy at barrel exchange for sending me a Tom Bowers extractor. I also picked up a loader from Arch Stanton to eliminate the stair stepping problem that was occuring. Between both of these, the gun now purrrssss and is an absolute hoot to shoot. Nothing like a .22 machine pistol you can shoot with one hand.

Thanks again Troy. Will try to get a video posted in the next few days.

The first time I shot my mini with the 22 conversion installed it wouldn't fire. The spring Troy suppied was too weak to dent the primer. I called Troy and he said to use the 9mm spring which I did. Then it fired well and went through a couple mags with no problem.
Troy has sent me a second spring but I haven't put it in yet. That 9mm spring runs the gun at a high speed which impresses everyone.

A few weeks later I was at a range and let some guys try it out. At first it was fine but then started firing single shots. Not picking up the second round. It got too dark to shoot but the problem seemed to be the BD mag was getting dirty and the mini was firing fast enough to try to pick up the second round before the mag spring pushed it up into position. I think I could spray a little silicon into the mag and slick it up some so it would work.

I've ordered some other mags (unused old ones, not BD) but I don't know if they will fit. I hope so. as extra mags are a gooood thing.
