Interesting historic opinion of sten guns

Just reading "commando extraordinary" about Otto Skorzeny.
He demonstrated a silent sten by emptying a full mag behind higher ranked generals while out on a walk. When he showed them the empty casings they were unimpressed. He also tried to sell them on the basic sten's simple ruggedness and reliability for close quarter fighting.

Skorzeny moddeled the German special forces (commandos) after the British commandos.

the Germans like the sten..towards the of the war they manufactured their own copy the MP3008 made by Erma....if I remember correctly the only real difference was the magazine feed from the bottom and not the side,,other than that it was a sten....

if the sten had just used a double feed magazine instead of a single feed.....

"commando extraordinary" about Otto Skorzeny

"commando extraordinary" about Otto Skorzeny

PAGES 55/56 (info on stens)

Because the Germans had broken some of the British/resistence codes they were able to "acquire" speciality equipment from the allies/British .........such as silent pistols and stens.

YES

It's an interesting opinion considering everyone else tended to dislike the sten!
