New IMI 386 roll pin won’t pass ejector

You can see the roll pin was taken down so the middle is exposed. That's flush. So it was sticking out a good ways into the channel. Best I can tell the pin is the correct tapered pin for the bolt.

New IMI 386 roll pin won’t pass ejector

Here’s some pics. I dremeled that roll pin all the way flush and the bolt slides like it should. I’ll need another pin though. The pic with the carrier is about where the bolt would stop from the roll pin contacting the ejector. That would also happen when the bolt was inserted ahead of...

New IMI 386 roll pin won’t pass ejector

I’ll get pics up soon, traveling. It’s not length of the roll pin it’s the width in the channel the ejector passes through. I got impatient and dremeled the roll pin waaay down. It slides fine now back and forth but that can’t be the right answer. I took it down pretty far.

New IMI 386 roll pin won’t pass ejector

Happy to be back on here. Sold my old 386 years ago against my will and just got another 386 barreled action from Ohio ordinance. It’s 90% plus condition per his description and I’d agree. I picked up a bolt and remaining parts. The bolt won’t go past the ejector either direction...

Chinese Norinco superior to Galil due to receiver thickness?

It's good to hear these replies. I was thinking in my head, where would the Galil fail and the Type 56 keep going. Especially with the milled receiver, if the argument is about receiver durability.

Chinese Norinco superior to Galil due to receiver thickness?

THAT SHOULD TELL YOU SOMETHING, as the GALIL AK's, F.E.G.'s from Hungary, Arsenal of Bulgaria, and Russian AK's were all tested against the Chinese Norinco, and the Norinco came out on top as the most rugged, and best value DUE TO THE USE OF THICKER 1.5MM STAMPED CHINESE RECEIVERS, DOUBLE-HOOK...

    Why a Galil?

Tough as nails. I'm all about reliability. As for every other reason, they all support the Galil as well. Solid folder, great sights, bulletproof mags, 35-50 round mag options, looks cooler than just about anything, milled receiver, in my experience very accurate, made by IMI.

    Pinned FH on Model 386

It's at the Bullet Trap in Plano. However, I would seriously look this one over before purchase. I recall having some concerns with a little damage to the rails the bolt rides on. I would have it looked over. As long as that checks out it's a great buy.

    Pinned FH on Model 386

I saw it again today. It was busy in there so I didn't ask to hold it. Somebody needs to snatch that up.

    Pinned FH on Model 386

Looks like you'll beat me to it. I have had my eye on that one for a couple weeks. Just no money. I saw that hider, and haven't ever seen one on a Galil like that one, like you said, looked like a FAL hider. One thing, I don't know if you opened it up, but I saw a couple marks or gashes...

Semi OT: AK vs. M-16 on Lock and Load

Haha. It is a little concerning. But doesn't bother me. At least the AK will work while the M4 is being repaired. Gunny had a Supermatch stainless M1A in the Marine Corp Camo Mcmillan yesterday. What a beauty that rifle is. Does the Galil flex like the AK? I would assume not as much...

Anybody tried Galil SAR w/a suppressor?

Got any pics? I want for an IMI SAR, but just can't swing it presently. And there is a consignment 386 AR at the gun shop for 1900 right now! Oh the humanity.

    Another satisfied Hillbilly Arms customer

That looks great. I am jealous. An SAR is in my future. Far off, but there. How's the weight of it? Does it shed some lbs?

Had my Galil on the range today..pics

In an attempt to salvage some dignity, I would like to say I examined the rear sight in detail, and noticed it says 300 and 500 when you flip it. So my assumption was correct, and I should pay more attention.

Had my Galil on the range today..pics

It's an IMI 386 Galil AR. I had a Golani which introduced me to the Galil. I loved that damn gun so much. But then it had problems and I don't do problems. So I traded and hustled my way into an IMI. No more problems. My favorite weapon by far. Someday, I hope to speak to the White...
