I used to refinish old Garand stocks and some of them can be soaked! I put them in the oven on low and the oil will leach out so you can wipe it off. You will need to do this a few times over a couple of hours. Good Luck! 'Puckfan

Absolutely unnecessary to engage a dealer on your end for transfer of either a handgun or long gun. Some receiving dealers will only accept a delivery from another dealer but there is no federal requirement for them to do so. You can send the gun via common carrier (not USPS). HTH! 'Puckfan
