    Uzi with a bayonet

Wow. I bought one when they were “expensive” at a little over $100. There must have been a batch of surplus that came in a few years later, because I was able to buy another at Knob Creek (from DSA, I think) for around $45 or so. Surplus being what it is, grab it while you can because it will...

45 SMG cans. Why no new development?

I was kicking around an idea a few years ago of how to do the Reising in a bullpup stock. Never really got the trigger bar mechanism down though.

    Who makes a .40S&W conversion?

That was my experience as well. GG mags work great for .40/10mm, the others not so much. I posted my attempts with photos here on Uzitalk several years ago. This included adding some internal ribs in a .45 Promag to get the rounds to stack better. I also got a .357 Sig barrel with my setup, and...

Putting a bi pod on an Uzi question

If you think about it, by far the highest abuse the trunnion welds see is the bolt slamming forward on an empty chamber. It’s been a couple decades since I calculated the shear stress in that type of situation, but I’m fairly certain that it is orders of magnitude higher than the load from the...

Just traded for some pretty cool parts!

Thanks! Yeah, I had welded the mag well on long enough ago that I almost forget it’s there. But it works very well. The upper was built by Autowerkes, back in the early 2000s.

Just traded for some pretty cool parts!

Found a better photo of the overtravel stop in the trigger. And yeah, the M11/9 wasn't much. But it was cheap enough that you could modify it without feeling too bad. This was the setup I ran in competition with for quite a while, until Richard Lage started coming out with his stuff. I...

Just traded for some pretty cool parts!

Hey Scott - one other thing for you to try is an overtravel screw. I just drilled and tapped the trigger itself. You can see it in the photo below. Then you adjust to where the trigger will just go back far enough to release the bolt. When you have it where you want it, locktite it in place...

    Products for the clinically insane.

I could never get the Bazooka Bros Uzi adapter to work all that well. But then I haven’t played with in years. That has to be awesome at 3X the speed of an Uzi.

Are Shockwave Mags the same size as the original Zytels?

I’ll state it a little differently: ZMags were designed to fit & function in the OEM (zytel mag) mag well. So yes, if you have an OME-style mag well installed in place of your Sten mag well, it will work with both Zytel mags and ZMags.

    Any 32 Auto M11A1 uppers?

This is correct. The semi-rim of the .32 makes up the difference. As noted previously, there are a handful handguns that can switch between the two cartridges with only a barrel change and (sometimes) a change of magazine. Breech face and extractor work fine on either with no modification.

    Any 32 Auto M11A1 uppers?

You might be surprised. I find some .380 pistol mags work as-is, while others just need some very minor tweaking. This is with Betetta 84 mags in a Beretta 81 pistol. I haven’t tried it with M11A1 mags, but would suspect the results would be similar. This might be something to check out...

    Any 32 Auto M11A1 uppers?

I hadn’t thought about it, but it might be that all you really need is a barrel to install on an M11A1 upper. I know I’ve been able to convert a Beretta .32 to .380 with just a barrel swap. The case head diameter of the .32 ACP and .380 are so close that the bolt from one cartridge works just...

    Uzi drum question

Check the archives here. I seem to recall some fairly detailed info with photos, angles, etc. But it was probably 15-20 years ago.

    Versa upper question

And yet, Thompson SMGs still sell for significantly more than M11/9s.

    Ohio SubGun Match

I enjoyed the match quite a bit. Stages were fairly straightforward but had some challenging points. The weather forecast had been decent for Friday and rain on Saturday. We ended up getting wet Friday afternoon but Saturday was all right. Stage 1 started with a row of full-size steel, with...

    Ohio SubGun Match

I’m bringing rain gear. Come prepared to shoot on the rain. I can just see pausing for lightning. Here’s a tip: bring a couple big garbage bags. Something that your gun case and range bag will fit inside. They don’t take up any space, but can help keep your gear from getting soaked.

uzi Barrel nut to sionic suppressor 3/4-10 or 7/8-9

Not the same approach as what you're asking about, but this would work as well. I go this in a box of Uzi stuff a while back. It uses an adapter threaded directly to the barrel. You install the barrel, screw on the barrel nut, then screw on the adapter. This one is for a semi-auto, so I've...

    Lage .22 kit question

Nothing wrong with “just a pistol”. (But yes, the form factor of a SMG is better)

Hernando sportsman’s club machine gun shoot (video).

That looked like a blast! I don't know that I'd run a .22 kit. Even though my Lage kit runs pretty well, and my Vector kit runs very well. They're still finicky, and trying to get through all of the stages would be difficult. Bravo for running it though!
