Interesting to consider. Would a FA firearm be YOUR choice for self defense?

Agreed. Full auto is for suppression fire, which is nearly mutually exclusive to the general view of self defense in our nation.

    AR-15 Popularity

I had one in the 90's, but didn't know how to clean it properly, and don't think the person I bought it from did either, and it didn't run good. It wasn't until late 2012 I decided to assemble one. Now I have 4 real AR's and a 15-22, with another receiver coming. They can be anything from a...

    The Sound of Silence(ers)

True, even the quietest suppressed firearms I know of are over 110dB, which is still pretty loud as sound goes. Silencers will improve the shooting experience to me. If everyone at the range used them hearing hits on steel would be much easier.

can a different upper effect trigger pull?

Uppers can absolutely make a difference. It is probably simply the spring pressure, but I noticed a huge difference between the .22lr upper, and the Max11K.

Pulling bolt back while on safe?

You cannot put these on safe with the bolt closed. Just a design "feature".

Best Gas System for Suppressed AR

Update: I finally finished the upper using the MicroMOA Govnah. It works, I am happy. With the switch in the suppressed position, and the ran on, it runs 100%. Take the can off, and it stops ejecting the spent case. Switch to either unsuppressed or adverse and it ran. I couldn't really feel much...

    M16 Conversion Prices...WHATS UP:)

I have seen these listed but don't think many are selling. A Colt M16 has been sitting for a few weeks at $22k. With M16's seeming flat, I considered selling out of M11 and stepping up to an M16. Can't convince myself to spend that much.

    Plans for a suppressor?

As a maker, not a manufacturer, you cannot repair the can. Once it is made, it is made. Repairs can only be made by a manufacturer according to current BATFE ruling. Sucks, and is what kept me from form 1'ing a can.

    Stolen Tommy Gun found.

Odds are they would use a dealer to possess it while they liquidated it. But yes it would have to transfer on a stamp each time, no way around that. But if the insurance company did have the m/g, they aren't in possession of an unregistered m/g; they would be in possession of a registered m/g...

    Best 9mm suppressor

I have a Liberty Mystic. It is great on an pistol caliber SBR or even title I 5.56 AR, but is kinda heavy for a pistol. The larger subgun cans are better on a subgun at controlling gas, but obviously are less suited to a pistol.

    Best M11/9 .22 conversion kit?

I have a M11/22 and Max-11/22 (old style). Like them both, but they have a different personality. A lot of it depends on what stock you will be running, and what C/F upper most. The sight height is quite different for the OEM style upper and the Lage offerings. My M11/22 kit is in a dedicated...

Freedom Ordnance FM-9 belt fed on a mac discussion thread

That is where I'm at also, but I'll add to me rifle caliber = .223Rem or 7.62x39. .308 full auto is a bit rich for my caste.

    Ruger Silent-SR 22 LR Suppressor

Did they have an 07/02 for all those years? Or get one again recently? They don't have barrels, bolts or other for MkI or II pistols either. If your MkII barrel goes bad, you get a MkIII receiver too. EDIT: They also don't support the 96/22 lever action, which kinda undermines the political...

    Ruger Silent-SR 22 LR Suppressor

No. Ruger doesn't have a warranty; they don't have to under Magnuson–Moss. They choose what to support and not. My guess is the tooling to make the AC556 specific parts is long gone, and there isn't enough possible demand to spark the interest of a company of their current size.

My dad was an aircraft tool designer his whole adult life, and I managed a tool design company for a couple years. I understand the process from the outside, and wish you the best.

Freedom Ordnance FM-9 belt fed on a mac discussion thread

Probably not. I can see $2500. Sure a few (noobs) said that was too much, but there is interest at that price point. Most of us would have pulled the trigger on the SABRE if it worked. AA had a bad rap from the Saiga world before they ever got the MAC's; so some of us were wary.

Freedom Ordnance FM-9 belt fed on a mac discussion thread

As I understand it, the # of M11/nines in the registry is about the same as M16's. I don't think the 7 million AR15's are going to buy in for the most part, under the same logic you applied to the MAC's. There are also about as many M11 .380's as M11/nines, and the difference is small. So it...

KG-9 Lower on GB. Comes with free Jail time

I don't think the buyer gets jail time. The manufacturer is the one required to put a S/N on it, and I suspect the statute of limitations has long expired on that. So it is probably just contraband.
