What's the story on this SMG barrel? Looks like IMI chrome lined to me.

One way to tell if its Chromium is put a dab of cold blue or Aluminum-Black one the "chrome" ; Chromium will not darken

    McKAY extractor round count update

It appears that the original thread is locked from further comments, so I started a new one to report a round count on a MckAY UZI extractor. I'm not going to repeat any issues here, just refer to the original thread for details I don't shoot my (full size) 9mm UZI a lot, but took it out today...

    Beware of Mckay uzi extractors

When you are on the German site, look up in the top right of the tool bar on your screen for a star icon; click it, and it will translate the text into English. I bought a few of these E. German extractors on GB for $50.00, I guess they sold too fast at that price because the price was raised to...

    Strange looking uzi extractors

UZI bolt with a SARCO extractor, note how the line on the extractor doesn't line up with the arrow on the bolt.

I bought a couple of M3 grease gun mags at SAR West that had apparently been kept loaded for a while.

    Beware of Mckay uzi extractors

Check to see if the alignment line is parallel with the notch for retaining the pin if not, it's aftermarket junk. When installed, the line doesn't line up with the arrow engraved on the back of the bolt. Mine broke in two (in the middle of the extractor) after 10 rounds.

    Beware of Mckay uzi extractors

If the McKay extractors with the pronounced curve were flattened, would they be too long as well? SO... if one was to bend the SARCO extractors, it would shorten their OAL? BUT if they are cast, they would probably break.

Octane 9 cleaning or removing the cage

I have an old sealed Gemtech 9mm suppressor that I owned for 20+ years, not as dirty as a well-used 22 can, but dirty. I plugged one end and filled it use Breakthrough and after 24 hours the baffles look shiny again. I also have a two OLD very dirty .22 suppressors (one is an AAC Pilot the...

    Uzi First Time Owner

I remember a video about the Vegas rental range guns, not sure if it's still available, but it covered what wore out or broke on their rental guns. I do recall one of the problems with their UZI, top covers needed replaced. Anyone have a link to that video?

    Uzi First Time Owner

I owned my first UZI for 20+ years...the only problems were a broken extractor, and the ejector came loose. IMHO Shoot the heck out of it, you cannot hurt it, or wear it out.

    Strange looking uzi extractors

On OEM extractors, the alignment line at the back is parallel with the notch for the retaining pin. It appears (in the photo) that the lines are about 90-degrees off. These could be the SARCO extractors...

Did you ever shoot out an UZI SMG barrel? UPDATE - Ruined Barrel - UPDATE 2 - Barrel Unruined

The Garand Collectors Association had an article in the Summer 2013 issue of their magazine. The purpose was to see how many rounds it would take until the barrel of an M1 Garand needed replaced, while not a direct comparison to an UZI barrel, it was interesting. The test barrel had an unknown...
