how does that work with a FTF? How does the tax transfer happen, and do you have to wait until the ATF sends the stamp to you before you pick it up? Mine was done from out of state and had to go through a FFL that did NFA transfers, but how does it work with private sales?

ok I see your point there. I did that once myself when I first got the gun. the mag had double fed, and when I pulled it out it loaded and discharged a round. But I thought you were talking about a bolt on a closed chamber.
