I bought 2 of the Apex kits a few weeks apart. As another post described they are acceptable but rough , One kit came with a gas tube that while function is very pitted and the hand-guards were abysmal. The upside they came with a barrel. I think If I were buying right now I would lean toward...

I have built rifles using Anderson, Olympic, Anderson , Palmetto State , Arero , Yankee Hill Machine , Spikes and Cot. While arguable that some use better metals, and certainly the finish is nice on some , they all work perfectly.
