Every single NFA transfer I’ve done as the buyer I’ve sent in the paperwork. The dealer fills out the form 4, and I take it home, fill out the another paperwork (RPQ recently), attach my check and a copy of my trust dec, and away it goes. I’ve never had one sent in by the dealer. (~40 stamps so far)

If the replacement is done as a “repair”, what difference would it make whether it was a factory gun or a 3rd party conversion? Either it’s legit to replace the receiver as a repair or it’s not. (It’s not, but it should be)

It’s not about scrutinizing the form 1, what I described is the correct way to do it. ATF has corrected forms for having the maker in 4a rather than the original mfg.

When you register an SBR on a form 1, the mfg of the receiver goes in 4a and the maker goes in 4h. So why would a form 1 mg be different? And which box should should transfer to 4a on the form 4? 4a Or 4h from the form 1?
