I think the belt fed uppers are awesome! However, I probably am not going to buy one. I would like to shoot one if I ever get the chance at one of the subgun matches/swapmeets, and I think that will probably scratch that itch for me, or…. It may drive me to buy one😂

Most smg competitions would require a flag. The brass works on some ranges in a pinch, but it is suboptimal, and may not be acceptable on some ranges. I was shooting.22s with my sons a while back, and my chamber flags were too big to fit. I put 45 brass as my chamber flag.

What I think he was referring to is putting a piece of brass in sideways between the bolt and the barrel. I’ve done the same when I forgot a chamber flag in the past.

I fitted one to a max31 tonight. Took about 3/4 inch off the front, and chamfered the end. Worked great. Still works in the lage 5.56 upper too. If you want to use one of these in ar9 upper, you will want to remove the rim on the back.

Hornady rapid rack is an aluminum (for .223) chamber flag, but it would work with other rounds as well. Just an idea…

A small parts brush or paint brush works well with the mineral spirits to clean up the cosmoljne.
