Flip it around. Look at my photo and from the bottom up you have the stock with a hole drilled in it big enough for the flat disc to go in then the spring, then the button installed in the metal piece with the flange down. Once it it put together you should be able to press down on the "button"...

The bigger spring goes under the "button" that is between the 2 slotted screws and the plate in the bottom of the hole that should be drilled into the wood so that the spring doesn't dig a deeper hole into the wood. The button puts pressure against the gun so that the stock doesn't rattle.

So how much Unique are you using? I have a ton of 158 grain .358" Lead Semi-Wadcutter from when I was mainly reloading. 38 Special. Unique was what I used. Dirty but it works.

Using those steps is how I fixed an issue I was having as well. Just take your time, study how the parts interact with each other and make sure nothing is binding.

If you have folding stocks with two different lengths of pull most likely you have a mini stock and a micro stock. I believe the mini is longer than the micro. I have a micro but it came with the longer mini length stock.
