Maybe they don't make this stuff anymore, but my Google Fu is showing me magazine pouches for subguns that generally hold only a few mags. I'm looking for some kind of magazine pouch that holds 10-15 mags for the range, not intended for on body carry. The only thing I could find that was on the bigger side was a USGI thompson mag pouch that held 6 and was $70 on rtgparts. I see a 10 mag holder for Glock mags, but that's most likely not big enough. These Shockwave mags seem rather beefy.

Anyone familiar with anything that holds a lot for the range bag?

I use a tool bag that I bought new for $5 from Craftsman. I can fit 20 plus mags in it. Sure the mags can slide against each other but I'm not driving over the Rubicon with them and so I see little finish wear. It really just depends on how cool you want to look with your set up. Used laptop computer bags that you can get from a church rummage sale for $2-5 make great carriers for your MAC, mags, and a few other things. I keep my MAC-10, can, stock, red dot, and one mag in an old diaper bag that my wife was going to throw out. I like that these bags don't scream 'gun inside' but that's just my choice.

That's a really good point actually. A tool organizer pouch might be perfect for this.

+1 for what "skoda" said. Personally I use ammo cans. I use a marker and mark caliber and type. Like "Uzi 9mm " or HK 10mm. I grab the can with the mags and the can with the ammo I want. I have worked very hard to get all my 5.56X45 guns use AR mags. Sadly I am not so lucky with 9mm. I have five different 9mm mag systems.

Don't recall ever seeing a mag puch that holds 10 + SMG mags that would be pretty heavy loaded up.

I use regular mag pouches and do like others toss them into something that doesn't scream gun stuff.

I also try not to use bags/cases that scream money inside like tool bags.

But I'm guilty of using a leather Sax case for my SBR and a soft guitar case for my FAL
Both bags have the potential to be stolen to end up at a pawn shop until the thief finds boom sticks in them.

Diaper/formula bag seems to me the ticket not many people even look twice at those.

Some AR pouches can take two subgun mags. You can string a few together using a molle panel.

Many yahrons ago I picked up a subgun "magazine purse" at the Indy 1500 gunshow, basically a center panel with mag pouches on both sides and a shoulder strap. Held either 10 or 12 mags, I don't remember too well. Loaded it up and slung it, immediately decided the $14 I paid for it was wasted as it was so damn heavy I didn't really want to lug it around too much. Packed away somewhere now, along with boxes of other web gear that didn't quite work as well as I thought it would... :bang

Galati makes the same thing in an 8 mag version, might be light enough to use for carry. This was from a "no name" maker that set up there from time to time, had copies of just about anything sold at the time. For something just to carry to and from the car my larger one would work fine.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I think this Galati bag is probably the perfect compromise between all the options while still being gun magazine specific that keeps the mag separated and keeps the exposed bullet/feed lip area protected. I see them available on optics planet.

When I bought my M10-45, it was a package deal including Lage upper, mags, all accessories the guy had. Came with two purse-type mag pouches, holding 8 grease gun mags each. Just went and looked at one and don’t see manufacturer or anything marked on it, but they’re OD nylon with Velcro-down flaps, look like modern Chinese imitation of some real GI thing that would have been canvas and snaps when the GG was in service. That’s not as helpful as I’d like to be, but it’s what I’ve got. Upshot is, such a thing was made, should be findable. Maybe place a WTB ad in the accessories category of this site? FWIW, 8mags filled with 30rds each of .45acp is about as heavy as I want any range bag to be. I’m a long way from the biggest, buffest, guy you ever saw, so YMMV, but 15 loaded mags in one bag seems excessive to me. Two bags of eight mags each works very well. I also found some “subgun” mag pouches online (boutique gear sites), like a group of 3, intended for attaching to, like, the front of your body armor, but it’s straight MOLLE attachment, so nothing stops you putting a row of nine on the MOLLE-paneled side of a range duffle, except cost. They are proud of the fuckers.

If you know how to sew, you can use any shoulder bag you like, and sew in Velcro or Nylon webbing straps (1 each, top and bottom). Of course, you can get fancy and use a Leather bag, with Leather straps, if you feel the need.

I want to feel cool. I'm always wondering what (cheap) surplus mag pouches will fit Suomi Coffin Mags and anything good for storing drums? Just want to keep them protected from banging around since they are getting so expensive now.
Anybody got any good suggestions for this?

loaded drums are indeed heavy. I keep them in a plastic 50cal ammo can with cardboard dividers.

These are also pretty cool. I don't know about M11 mags, but they'll hold 8 Uzi mags really well.

Those are French MAT49 subgun mag pouches, they are very nice pouches. Holds 5 mags in individual compartments, has cloth belt loops on back, as well as the shoulder strap. Numrich's prices are a bit high though, RTG and Hessen both have them for a lot less, Hessen's shipping is kinda high but if you are buying several the price difference from RTG should more than compensate. Some do smell a bit musty but some Febreze and a few days out in the sun and air takes care of that. The ones I have some of the paint is worn off the hardware but no rust. Need to get more!

Kinda ironic the pouches are everywhere and cheap, but the original contents are a bit harder to find...

There is also the later version that only holds 4 mags and uses velcro on the flap, belt loop but no straps. Always thought these were more practical for actual belt carry. Unfortunately most US sources are out of stock, but Ebay Britain has a seller that's not too bad if you buy several to spread out shipping. I put 5 in the cart and it was about $73.
