Trying to diagnose a jam we experienced the last time we were out with our UZI. First round the bolt flies forward and it hits the cartridge and dents it right in the middle and jams. This never happened before. Same mags, same ammo. It was clean and lubed.

Hi,
Hard to say from here. A few suggetions that may or may not help:

1.) Steel cased ammo can have this happen more often than brass in my experience
2.) Mags may need cleaning or mags overloaded (be aware of the side of the mag that the last round rests)
3.) Extractor hole in the bolt filled with previous days shooting crud
4.) Extractor not of correct flavor or was replaced with a defective product
5.) Check the recoil spring strength
6.) Made in China mags should be replaced with later surplus mags (common in the AWB)

If all else fails, just beat it against a tree until it flies apart. Worked for another forum member :) (lame attempt at humor)

Enjoy,

K2

You could try loading 30 rounds instead of 32 if you are fully loading the mags. Pretty hard for the gun to strip the first round in a fully loaded 32 round mag

I'm assuming open bolt. Does it happen after that first round is cleared? Overloaded or dirty mags could be a place to start looking.

"If all else fails, just beat it against a tree until if flies apart." K2, please clarify; " ...until the Uzi flies apart or the tree flies apart"?
