Today I test fired the prototype 357 sig conversion after the barrel mods. I also found the mags I was using have weld flash on the inside at the seam I polished the inside of two of the mags and went to it.
Bad news first. The 41AE mags when full (20 rounds) Still had 3 failure to feeds with round nose ammo out of five mags. All the failures occured at the first shots.
Now for the good news (and its very good!) I switched to IMI and FN 25 round 9mm mags. With the new barrel mods I fired over two hundred and fifty rounds, WITHOUT A SINGLE FAILURE!
Then I loaded up 100 rounds of factory flat point 357 sig ammo in the 25 round IMI mags. I shot all 100 rounds, WITHOUT A SINGLE FAILURE!
This was all in my Vector Uzi with the stamped feedramp.
The only downside to this is the 25 round mags only hold 18 rounds, which is two less than the 41AE mags. If I can get someone to volunteer for testing 32 round mags we can see how many they fit and if they are still reliable.
The plus side is the kits will be cheaper than the projected $375 because I don't have to supply $50 mags.
Any comments would be appreciated. I am modifying the completed prototype kits today and hopefully will have 20 more produced by the end of the weekend. Anyone interested in one of the first kits please contact me. As I said before, if you buy a kit from me and you don't like it for ANY reason I will give you back your money (less shipping cost). Let me know what you guys think.
