Big Sandy Shoot of the Max11/15

I was able to shoot the Max 11/15 at the Big Sandy!!! Great Addition to the Mac uppers. Very smooth shooting gun.

Here is a shot of me shooting it with some brass flying.

I shot it with one of my Lancer Systems magazines and 2 GI magazines. Not one hang up or malfunction on any of them.

Don't they point nicely? I was really impressed with that aspect of the upper.

Sorry, there won’t be one there. I thought Chili might bring one but he is not going and neither am I nor any of the other Beta Testers.

Will there be one at NUTS next month?
Here’s the range report I read from the Big Sandy.

Hi Guys,
We just got back from the Big Sandy. I have been going to this shoot since it started and have never missed a shoot. I have to say that this was one of the worst shoots since the beginning. The weather SUCKED. It was cold, windy and we had rain. We got there on Thursday and it was raining. We didn't set up our spots and it poured all night. The Friday afternoon shoot was very skimpy on the reactive targets and they flew NO PLANES. They said the pilot was sick. Friday night was not much better with few targets and again no planes.

Saturday was not much better. The rain was gone but the wind replaced it. It blowed ALL DAY LONG. The matches were terrible. I had talked to the staff about the set up at the last shoot and they said they would fix it but it was not addressed. They were giving only a 2 second penalty for a miss on a running and gunning type match. The gamers caught on to this and it turned into a running contest instead of a shooting match. One guy ran the match hitting less that half the targets and won because he ran it quickly. BS. The Subgun match was worse. They had two shooters shooting at the same time with a range officer with him. The timer guys was off to the side and had two stopwatches in his hand. When the shooter finished the course his range master would raise his hand and the timer guy would stop the clock. Some Range masters were much faster to raise their hand then others and I recall one guy still shooting when the hand went up.

All day the wind would not let up. They flew about 3 planes all day long and I was getting tired of shooting at dirt. I packed up my guns except for the SAW before the line was shut down. We ate dinner and waited for the night shoot to begin. The wind started to get stronger and the temperature dropped. I must say that there was a good amount of targets put out for the night shoot but the wind was so bad that it was unpleasant to shoot. The only tried to fly one or two planes but that's it. I packed up the SAW and went home with just about all my tracer. I hate going to a shoot and coming home with ammo. SUCKED.

Sounds miserable!! I hope the Creek is better, the forecast has been improving, but Saturday still looks to be a swim through the trenches...

Are we talkin about remote control planes when you say flying planes? It reminds me of the stories my grandpa told about targets that would get flown behind an actual plane.

Yes, remote controlled large model aircraft. Where else in America can a private citizen shoot tracer at an aircraft at night with tracers and not get arrested as a terrorist than the Big Sandy?

Sound a little better than a similar length barrel AR to me

Could that be because the muzzle is further way? The Max11/15 seems longer than an AR with the same length barrel. It seems to me when I use a longer barrel with my can it seems quieter. So if the Max11/15 is longer then the muzzle would be further away with the same length barrel as an AR.
