There are plenty of people getting denied nowadays, I'm sure your paperwork might "slip through" but as a general overall policy they are not allowing it.

No, not the case at all. Just watched two HK transfers go through and they were listed 9 mm, .223, .308 and .22 cal was added in a separate addendum. No problems.

9mm hands down. The 45 although a good defence round is not cheap to shot and is not nearly as availible when it comes to conversions and SMGs. The .380 in my opion is like a fat slow 22lr. 9mm is reletivly affordable commonly availible and has fair stoping power.

45 most powerful and fun to shoot and probably the most effective overall. For what the MAC was intended to do probably the best.

380-potentially what Ingy intended for smallness and concealabilty. Fire rate to high though except for one on one combat where you want to kill the guy right off. To problematic except for the early ones.

I would probably want the M-11 9mm because it is almost best compromise between
smallness
concealability
firepower
affordability
feel in the hand
Controllability if with some accessories
Just to finnicky though and breaks down a lot thus not a good zombie gun. Maybe a good one for the wow, fun, and look at me mom type of gun.

M-10 9mm is what I have. Very reliable. A bit bulky. Rate just to high for combat against zombies but perfect for one on one when there is just one sucker I am trying to hose down. Very affordable with 9mm thus can shoot a lot.

Overall I would lean towards the 45 with silencer.

Would practice with it allot. This one would have actual practical use if for real. Wish the rate was say below 650 though.

Best choice though is one of each.

I picked the 380 due to the high cyclic rate and its smaller size...just a fun little buzz-gun. Maybe I'm not seeing the whole picture here, but caliber lethality didn't have any bearing at all since I only shoot paper targets, cans, mud puddles, etc.... What are you guys shooting at?

9mm. Just like most everyone else, I pick this caliber for my M11 because its cheaper to shoot.

Cheapest to shoot, Suppresses better than 45, more powerful than .380, and plentiful selection of ammo.

I would say .45. If you want something cheaper to shoot get a conversion for 9mm, 7.62tok, hell even .22.

I have to go with the others on the 45. They ROCK and are easily converted to 9mm......
The 380 are just plain fun though!!!

You master the .45 and you've tamed one of the hottest SMG's ever; with a good can (Gemtech Viper...) it's sick! The M10/9 is sweet and very well balanced, it's weight welcomed for control and its ROF very rewarding. M11 needs the 950 speed bolt and Lage upper to be in the same conversation.

The .380? Funny that, in this years old thread, the issue of metal mag availability is looming over the .380 MAC's. You can find and horde the others but the .380 mags are collector's items. That kills it for me, I want a lot of mags for my weapons...no loading at the range, just shootin'.

That's an interesting concept... just how many mags would you think you'd need if we invited you to a two day shoot such as Eden? A silly amount? You do know that everybody just brings a couple mags for each gun, no? They just bring cases of ammo for the 2 days... reloading a mag is kinda required. Besides... following your concept... just how many mags would I need for the 15 machineguns I would normally bring to a shoot like Eden?

Interestingly, I DO use your concept... for the beltfed guns. All ammo is preloaded on belts... no belting of ammo at the shoots for this guy.

.45 is already subsonic 9mm you have to subsonic ammo at twice the cost of regular 9mm/ So how is it cheaper to shoot.

It's not twice as expensive

the low end 115 gr WWB is like $21.00 shipped and 147 gr ammo like win. super x is maybe $24 shipped.

if you shoot the 115 gr out of a silenced M10 it makes a loud crackle but not enough to keep you from shooting the 115s

I like 45 too but that stuff is genuinely 2x as expensive as 9mm.

223 and 9mm are freakishly cheap ammo, there's not much that can come close in terms of bang for the buck

Ammo prices are all pretty much a non issue when rockin full-auto. Anything more than .22LR is nothing more than turning a LOT of money into a LOT of noise. IF youre going about it box-by-box, youre REALLY wasting money. Shoot .22LR until you save enough to buy larger caliber ammo in 1000rnd cases (or more). Realistic priced bulk ammo is fairly easy to find if one shops around.

Get a M10A1 (MAC 10) in .45acp. You have many more caliber options than a M-11 (IMHO). Mines setup in 45/9mm/& 22. The trade off is in size and weight. The M-11 weights less and has a smaller magwell so it's more comfortable to hold.... But even if I had it to do all over again, I'd still have gone with the M-10.
