I recently was searching through an auction on e-bay and came across an "80% receiver". It was a stamping without the back of the receiver or the front sight/barrel trunion in place. Here are my questions. 1) can one fit surplus parts to the front and real of this type of receiver? 2) Has anyone done it and if so have they used TIG or MIG type welds? 3) What is the best way to fit the ejector to the inside of the receiver? Thanks for any help with these questions.

:welcome bigluk. Never heard of anyone building one like that unless it was a gunsmith repairing a damaged sub gun. Lee Tool makes those receiver sections for that too and they're NIB. I'd be weary of an "80%" receiver, since it probably came from a full auto parts kit. The ejector was riveted in on the factory guns that I've seen. Good luck with it and let us know how it goes. Karl.
