For those interested in the A & D drum adapters for the Lage M11/22 they are still available. After a few emails with Bazooka Bros I finally got a reply saying that they no longer handle them. I did however get the contact information for the person actually building them. I spoke to him and he assured me that he still builds and sells them.
As mentioned in another thread on this subject that the owner of Bazooka Bros passed away and the son is taking over. They no longer stock or sell the adapters and the builder was unaware that the A&D link was dead but did know about the father passing.
The builder will contact me in the next couple of days and let me know what he has available. He will also let me know what contact info I can post while he decides how to get these available online again.

Concorde,

If you go the the BB website and select the link for the adapters, SBD I think, you get coming soon/under construction. Dead. After some internet search I found the link you posted and selected purchase, was sent an invoice and no way to pay or contact anyone. The response was from Baz45@comcast.net. Eventually I got the response posted above from BB.

I am curious how people efficiently and successfully load both the AM180 drum and the tower together. That just seems like it would be really tricky to pull off. The only instructions I could find were from this old post: http://www.uzitalk.com/forums/showthread.php?60554-A-amp-D-M-11-Drum-Adapter&p=522984&viewfull=1#post522984

Lots of talk about a video with instructions, but no joy. Anybody willing to post a video?

I've spent hours on the thing and couldn't never get it to run reliably. Yes, followed the instructions, tried many different windings etc. my guess is my tower angle may be slightly off. I could get 20 or 30 rounds in FA at a time, but never got a close to a full drum. I eventually just gave up. Lage's blackdog mags run flawless for me.

1. Install the winder on the drum. Wind to the proper number of rotations for the drum size. Lock the winder.
2. Remove winder from drum.
3. Load the drum with dummy rounds first and then live ammo.
4. Attach winder to drum.
5. Attach adapter to drum.
6. Hold drum with the adapter upwards and rims of the ammo in the tower towards the user.
7. Tilt the drum to a 45 degree angle so the tower is vertical.
8. Hold the top and bottom of the drum tight to keep them from spinning and unlock the winder.
9. Holding the drum tight, slowly let the drum spin to feed the dummy rounds up the tower until the feed lips stop the ammo.
10. Lock winder for later use or insert tower into firearm for use.

Holy crap. And they say an AM-180 is hard to load :(

"They" are wrong. Loading a 180 drum is easy, no spring tension, no sore fingers. 200 rounds just takes longer to load than 30 rounds. :)

Well, that is actually not nearly as hard as I thought it would be. I assumed that it would be 'rim-lock city' as the rounds fed into the tower without some pressure/resistance from the top of the tower. I imagine that once the tower is full, the angle of the drum plus some kind of taper at the base of the adapter as it goes into the tower prevents further rim-lock.

I think the AM180 drum design is neat. It is fairly simple and works really well (as intended).

Strobro, you need to 3D print a 200+ round 9mm version of this drum design and make an adapter for a Z-mag tower. ;)
