I had a Benjamin Marauder .25 precharged pneumatic aka "bb gun". Had the same energy as a .22LR at reasonable range. Funny how the delivery of that gun coincided with an abrupt drop on the instances of squirrels eating my hardiplank siding.

I eventually sold it but have a more compact version in .22 caliber. Definitely not toys and great for suburban backyard siding preservation.
Squirrels eat hardiplank?!

We competed with a 2 pump max rule. Now I understand how incredibly dangerous it was. Fortunately nobody was ever seriously hurt.

Friends all had Daisy Powerline rifles. I was the oddball with my Crossman.

Most glorious moment for that Crossman was taking a quail on a lucky first shot almost 50 yards out.

Long wanted a Benjamin 397. They started putting synthetic stocks on them now.

One of the HardiPlank siding eaters took two of my tomatoes today and paid dearly for it thanks to my Marauder.

Sounds more like a vegan looter to me.
1st the siding now raiding the garden.

That's one of the bigger game I've seen taken with a air rifle but i still don't think it trumps fhe one on the Lewis & Clark expodition.

That thing devestated hostiles and in a AD killed a squaw..

The original is in the NRA museum.

The book UNDAUNTING COURAGE mentions it and a few other cool things about the expodition.

There is a Forgotten Weapons video on it, and another video by a guy who owns one.
Both are good videos.
Also, to the best of my knowledge, it's the only air rifle that was used in Military Service as a Combat Weapon.

Thanks for the post Camo, I feel a lot of people (especially in the gun community) don't fully know the difference between bb guns and airsoft and just figure as them being the same thing, very informative :)

The only reason I got into guns in the first place was because of airsoft, and has been a great trainer for one's who don't have the luxury of taking a short trip to an actual shooting range. Just load the mag with bbs and gas and take some shots in the basement, lots of fun.

Oh, and the games and events they do for paintball/airsoft are loads of fun, especially when you have friends come along too.
