I just need the $5 stamp with it...no 5320.20. I built it for a motel room companion when I'm out of state. I need to do a little more work on it before the refinish and it'll be a traveling piece.

This is my hotel gun. (sorry its not an AK) I was asking about the paperwork because I'd like to put a vertical foregrip on it.

I believe it's 200$ to register an AOW, 5$ to transfer it.

Last I heard from the ATF, it was OK to install and use one of the magpul AFG on a pistol without needing NFA registration.

At least there was a letter floating around somewhere with that info.

Correct. If you give it to a C2 for conversion, it transfers back to you for $5. Otherwise the Form 1 costs $200.

The letter thing is subject to change whenever they feel like it. If the weapon is 26" OAL or longer a tax stamp isn't required.

I'd want a "go ahead" from tech branch on that before building any non-stocked firearm with a vertical foregrip.
