Have many people used the AM15 upper by Tactical Innovations? Looks fun from the Youtube videos. Didn't know what people's experiences have been.

How hard is it to get it set up. do you have to change a bunch of parts on the lower?? Thanks

I know at least four of us here in Las Vegas have been on the pre-order wait list for a little over two years. We placed our deposits the first weekend he accepted them at the SAR Show in 2005.

AFAIK, none have shipped.

Sorry to hear that. What is it about this industry taking pre orders and then no products coming? I know Tac Innov. does ship other stuff, but still.

I hate to hear that as it looked like a fun toy.

We early depositors are waiting patiently. It seems that Craig wants to ship all the orders at once rather than in batches. He lost a bunch of folks when he announced it would be open bolt.

Craig mentioned several times that he can't find enough CNC machine operators and is making as many parts as possible in house to avoid delays with subs. The flaw in that thinking is that he is creating his own delays but at least the quality is in his control.

It's not my call but I think the decision to ship all at once is a mistake. It's likely that any new product will have some teething pains. Why not find out with a small initial sample instead of duplicating the problem with all orders shipped.

Craig does answer his emails and says it's coming SOON. The deposit is small and I just purchased an AM180 so I'm in for the long haul.

Subgunner; Dave's number, "shipping order position" (that's what's it's referred to on the invoice), is just under 20 and he called Craig and was told that due to some people who've dropped out, he's moved up. I'm number 29 and Tony's not too far behind me. Of course all this was at the SAR Show in December of 2005 and our deposits only cost us a hundred bucks each. I've got mine right here for reference.

Any other locals you're aware of on the AM-15 list?

Ok. $100 not bad. I have had a $100 on deposit for a Doug Richardson thompson receiver for years. I think of it as more of an option. Its when it gets to be larger amounts that it becomes more of an issue.

Exactly. Later on he offered a plan with people paying different deposit amounts up to the full pop. Your shipping position was tied to the amount of your deposit. That wouldn't work for me. While I'd like to have it, I'm not getting my panties in a knot over a hundred bucks.

I've yet to call or e-mail him about the project over the last two years and don't intend to start now. Repeated calls won't make it ship any faster and I get my updates from others who do call and e-mail. I'll get it when I get it. I'm not requesting my one hundred dollar deposit back... yet.

I have emailed Craig about every three months in 2007 to try and get an update. He has always responded but has never given a firm date for delivery.

Craig has been saying soon for a few months. Tried to get him to commit to Xmas in my November email but he wouldn't.

I'm in the $100 group. My wife can lose that at a video poker machine in an hour so I'm not going to sweat it. We Las Vegans are gamblers. :jester

Hmmm... Just noticed the price is now $1750.00. When did it go up?
Oh, GarandMan. These aren't available for the FNC or the Ruger AC556. ;)

I'm holding out for the M11 / 180 anyway.

On the AR side of things, right now I'm thinking RLL.

Just heard from a friend who e-mailed asking about ordering. Craig says if you order now (requires $1750 payment, plus shipping, via credit card, that won't be charged through until unit is shipped) and expect delivery in about 6 months. this is for full-auto capable, open bolt only. No semi.

I was number 36 (as of a year and a few months ago) Paid in full. May have moved up since due to drop-outs, but I haven't asked. Hopefully they will ship soon, as I have a Group Stainless lower that I can put it on, that I don't have to worry about hole elongation, etc. on.

I guess that means even the early guys will be waiting that long. 2 1/2 years wait. I guess that beats the Shrike. At least I'll have my AM180 shortly.

At least we didn't put up $5K to wait that long. I think I'm in the second group ($250 deposit); at least I was when I ordered at the begining of 06.

Got an Xmas present as well. An invoice for the balance. No firm delivery date but it's close.
