What kind of ammo do you use for you Max11/9, Iv been using federal champions and have had good results. Can you guys point me in a directions to buy some good quality bulk ammo, Im looking to buy 500-1000 at a time. I just don't want to buy ammo, and have it be low powered and have my gun run away, and kinda new to buying bulk ammo. Just looking for a place to buy it and a brand people recommend.

I have had really good luck with the brown bear and silver bear. I have shot hollow point ammo in my gun but not the 145gr silver bear. It's supposed subsonic, but I can't recommend that to you as most people's m11's won't shoot any thing but ball.

Also you could shoot the recommended Winchester white box. Then you could reload it if you want.

I shoot a crapload of the Federal 115gr from Walmart, but WWB and the steel cased Tula work well for me too.

I think the main thing is to stay away from Remington UMC Green/Yellow box because it is way underpowered. Also, non RN bullets usually don't have the feeding reliability as do the RN bullets.

I got 500rds of the Remmy green box stuff on a lark (macaholic was so insistant that I figured it'd be worth a shot; worst case I run it in my glock or AR or such).

Turns out, the stuff runs my M10/9 pretty good. The ROF is noticably slower than the Tula/Wolf/WWB/S&B (haven't shot federal yet, got some for my next range trip though!) but not enough to make any difference in terms of pulling singles (still can't do better than a double). In any case, that stuff is so dirty that the russian stuff leaves no residue (in comparison).

Unburned powder sprays out the end of the can, and it's the only ammo that's ever gassed me out on the factory upper and 2 stage sionics can. In fact, it's so nasty that it only takes maybe 10-15rds to gas me out! Anything else I've run I can do a 50rd mag dump and not bat an eye.

couldnt one just load 124gr 9mmx19mm into a .380 sized case and play with the charge to make it a tad higher pressure than average .380 (9mmx17mm) and come out with pretty much the same results?

Yes, they certainly could. I have to wonder if there isn't load data for that MAC ammo out there someplace; at the very least to know what FPS/PSI it was loaded to. That's the info you'd really want/need to figure out what the load is. Then again, the brass may have also been heavier than usual to account for the increased pressure.

Honestly, it's not really a venture I'd want to undertake, but there are plenty of reloaders out there who I'm sure would have no problem stepping up to the plate to play with it and figure it out.

Living in Missouri, the best deals on bulk 9mm ammo is AimSurplus. I shoot lots of Russian steel case, I've shot other ammo but the steel case is cheap and works great. Wal-Mart has the Tula 9mm at a good price.

I've heard the Fiocci subsonic ammo is pretty good. MidwayUSA stocks it.

I've run some of everything through mine with never a problem. Currently I run 115gr FMJ.
