Any interest in a lighter MAC auto only trigger?

Trade some travel for spring force. So it would be lighter but more travel before the bolt release.

Existing sear engagement and sear spring force, so no change in gun safety there.

Basically the trigger would be directly connected to the sear, so single shot would not work as there is nothing to disconnect, but you get rid of the trigger spring force in exchange.

Safety switch may have to be removed though.

This is how the LAGE full auto only competition triggers work. The entire FCG operates off the sear spring and there is no need for a separate trigger spring once the trip/disconnector is out of the picture. Welding the disconnector directly onto the sear accomplishes the same “improved” full auto only trigger pull.

Interesting. I assume it uses the same rotation point as the existing stock trigger? I have not seen one up close.

I moved that point forward for more leverage. Can get the trigger force Lower.

Just looked at the manual on the lage site. It does use the existing axis it looks like.

Mine is different. Requires removal of the safety though.

I would be very carful of a system that eliminates the safety. One ND and you might regret it.

On mine, it's actually unsafe to switch to safe, as it is so stiff, your finger can slip and hit the trigger. You are more likely to have an ND trying to switch it to safe than just leaving it alone. I never switch it.

But it would be great if it still had single shot, And safety, And lighter. Will keep working on it.

Do you have the Lage or OEM safety? I highly recommend every MAC owner to replace all internal trigger parts with Lage parts that are available. Lage improved the design of the parts and greatly improved the materials used. Though I have recently worn out a Lage sear from too many rounds with the CFWa bolt. Nothing lasts forever.

Don’t fix it if it ain’t broke…. I’ve seen people have issues with their guns because they decide to swap out FCG parts for LAGE parts. I agree they are higher quality, but MACs are super finicky and parts sometimes have to be hand fitted to run properly from one gun to the next. I say if it runs right, leave it alone. That safety would loosen up with a little oil and working it back and forth to smooth out and wear down the detent that’s sticking.

My FA only trigger from Lage is made out of aluminum so it wears down and won’t work after a short time so I have had to fix it. H adding weld more than once

good to know. was thinking of stainless, or hardened steel, with a polymer shoe. will keep an eye on wear too.

This is the first time I have heard of one of our triggers wearing out. It only pulls the sear down, no moving parts. If you repaired it by welding more aluminum to the “hook”, it would have annealed the aluminum and made it soft. Our second generation Full Auto Only Triggers have a wider contact area for the sear. This was a result of making sure it could not be installed in an Open Bolt Semi M-11A1 pistol. Please return your trigger and we will replace it for free.
