Any interest in a lighter MAC auto only trigger?

I have discovered that the trigger pull is the lightest when the trigger spring is removed along with the trip and the only spring used is the sear spring in a full auto only configuration. I have no way of measuring but the trigger pull is definitely a couple LBS lighter and a lot smoother when the spring and trip are removed from the equation. Im honestly not sure exactly what , if anything, the LAGE competition triggers do to reduce the weight of the trigger pull, other than the removal of the trip and disconnector, which can be accomplished with a stock FCG by removing the trip and tacking the disconnector into the forward position. I believe they also sell a select fire version of their competition trigger but I don’t know if it actually makes a difference in the weight of the pull or if it’s just a more comfortable and ergonomically shaped trigger.

I've been curious if Lage's Select Fire Trigger is really worth it?
Anyone have any personal experience?

never tried the select fire but I’ve had one of the full auto only triggers (no disconnector). It was lightweight aluminum and a different shape from the OEM trigger. I didn’t really care for the look, I prefer the classic original stock look, and you can achieve a lightweight FA only trigger pull with the factory trigger by omitting the trip and tack welding the trigger/disconnector assembly with the disconnector forward so the disconnector never moves off the sear. With this set up, full auto only, you can also omit the trigger spring which will of course reduce the weight of the pull a bit more. If you’re handy and have the tools it’s a quick easy modification and OEM mac trigger assemblies are easy to find and relatively cheap to replace. If you don’t have the time or know-how to do the job yourself, the LAGE offerings are probably the way to go.

might be some confusion in terms. but i would never suggest removing the sear spring. the coil spring that pushes the sear up that is. Do this and a runaway is likely.

Trigger spring, not the sear spring. I don’t think I said sear spring anywhere but if I did it was just a typo. The trigger spring is the one that can be removed.

I just installed a Lage FAO trigger and I'm not sure how much you'd be able to improve upon it. The enlarged shoe is a must to make it feel less like pulling on dull blade.

2 pounds is how much can be improved.

not really worth it. If it did single shot as well then yes. but that is more complicated.
