I just got my wiselite sterling back from KGB. Andy did a great job of mounting the barrel and fitting a end cap for $125. No bayonet lug, but it was a option. I was never going to mount a bayonet anyway.

I know he had to mill out part of the breach end so it would fit over the blocking lug welded to the tube. He also sent back some parts that he cut off the front end to put his assembly on it.

How can I get in touch with them?
& YES, I do realize that a bayonet on my Wiselite will be less useful than a 2nd belly button.

Does the can simply replace the endcap, or do you need another way to secure the barrel?

It replaces the barrel nut on a SBR.

You take the barrel nut off and screw the suppressor on. That’s all there is to it.

I spoke to Andy at KGB, this is obviously the way to go, he has already solved all of the issues. I worked up a design, butt his solution is better.

New here, long time lurker. I am going to SBR a Wise-Lite Sterling, and plan to fabricate a replica end cap with the bayonet lug and hex screws to lock it in place. The thing will thread on to the Wise-Lite threads.

Make one, we might was well make a lot - anyone interested in such a thing? Might cost $60 each or so.

I just got my Wise-Lite Sterling, and was thinking to have a replica end cap made. So glad I saw this thread!!! Can you hook me up? I have more $$$ than skills or time to make one.

I am going to mention this because of an issue that has come up with the Wiselite gun conversion. As anyone that has bought one you know that they were built with very little workmanship skills. The MK4 semi auto SBRs (MK8) that we built were made from a ONE piece tube. Wiselite sectioned their guns together. This was a huge cost difference. The problem that has come about is that when we convert to a MK4 configuration using the 7.8 in barrel the point of impact could change to the point that the front sight can not be adjusted enough to bring the point of impact true. I just received a gun back to me because the customer was unhappy with the 7 inch point of impact change. Now, whether or not the gun ever fired true before is something I do not know, but I told him that I could probably split the difference and get it closer. So I am bring this to everyone's attention that has thought about this conversion. KGB Armament will not be responsible for point of aim point of impact change when converting Wiselite Sterling to a MK4 configuration.

My bad grammar. Sorry.

X-Ray Zulu,,, How do you plan on doing your Sterling SBR? Are you going to do it yourself or have someone do it?

As you can see from Andy’s (KGB) post, it’s not as simple as it looks.

The best results I have had so far is replacing the complete shroud with an original Mk4 shroud. That means cutting the front off just in front of mag well and replacing it. It makes it easy to get the rear trunnion out and the barrel centered in the tube. There’s a bit more to it, bayo lug and a two-part rear trunnion and barrel mods.

The zero still moves very slightly when the gun heats up. It’s very little. You notice it more because it’s semi-auto and firing from a closed bolt. The full-auto open bolt system is not as accurate, so it’s not really noticeable on those “tube guns”.

Just shortening the 16” barrel is quick, cheap, easy. It’s not going to shift the zero if the barrel is crowned right.

I was going to add on to my shop. The wife thought an outdoor kitchen would be better. It turned out okay. I’ve put on 35 pounds so far.

I see you are in the big pines. Are you near Karnack?

I will confirm that the Wiselite guns have very questionable build characteristics. The 3 part receiver did in deed make their end of the build a whole lot easier, but my rifle, before and after SBR build shot very low. Since my elevation options are really just in the front sight, I ened up having to remove some threads on the bottom of the post, as even with it screwed all the way down, I was still shooting low. After removing several threads turns, I could get the post to go down enough to get my impact at dead center. Forget trying to make it any higher. I won't have any post popping up to see. So at present, I get a wee little nipple just poking above that horseshoe semi circle of the front sight protector. It will have to do.
