I am planning on buying a semi vector, (full size) as soon as the AWB goes away in sept. (fingers crossed) I want to know some details about the semi vectors. I want a pre ban IMI, but the pre ban prices keep going up.

How does it shoot?
How does it handle hollow points?
Can you remove the barrel to clean it? Or is it spot welded like the norincos?
Can a semi vector be registered, then converted to a SBR easily?

dude, you can find a minty preban IMI original for about 150 to 200 more than a Vector online at gunsamerica.com, get it rather than the vector.

If you wanna get a mini, then youll have to go to vector, otherwise spend only 150 more for an original black UZI than a gray vector, the 150 alone will make up for the resell value if you ever wanna sell it off.

Um, since when have IMI Prebans been going for $750???

I would rather get the $600 Vector with the warranty, but then I don't buy weapons for collectability, I buy them for shooting!

Glockdude, I know the barrel nut and barrel is removable and not spot welded like the Norincos. I'll leave the other questions to the pros... ;)

I got my semi Vector a couple of months ago and love it.

Havent had one jam or FTF with it through several hundred rounds of HP, SP, FMJ in different weights.

Hands down a great rifle and a great company to deal with.

You dont have to wait until the ban is dead to get one. Get one now with the fixed stock, order a folder from CDNN for $30, stick the folder in a safe deposit box until 9/13, then slap it on.

You can get a Vector for $600 now.

Under $1000 for an IMI in decent shape is a steal.

I shoot all my guns, including all my pre ban toys. I would get a vector now, but I was told the "fixed stocks" are ethier welded or rivited to the receiver. That is the only reason I dont get one right now. I talked to someone at vector about the stock. I was told that after the ban dies, the folding stocks will be back!!!!

Glklvr, e-mail please, I have a few more detailed questions about your vector.

I bought a full size a month ago and love it. (vector IMI receiver) The gun has run flawless for over 500rounds. A buddy of mine liked it so much he just bought one and his has worked perfectly too. I got one of the Vector drums and it worked great also. If you are going to buy one I beleive there is no better buy out there than the vector.

Hello Glockdude1. I have 3 Vectors: 1 pre-ban full size and 2 standard FA's. The semi is fun to shoot. In spite of the heavy trigger, it is easy to shoot a group <4" group at 25 yds free style and standing with a folding stock. It looks better if a fake suppressor is put in it:
http://www.e-gunparts.com/DisplayAd.asp?chrProductSKU=593970&chrSuperSKU=&MC=

The FA's had problems. One had the faulty weld on the trunion that caused the barrel nut to loosen. Vector repaired it and I had the semi feed ramp put on it, as some FMJ's would hit the edge of the feed ramp and jam.

I know that the semi feed ramp is supposed help hollow points to feed, but I have never fired any in my guns. I reload only FMJ's in
9 mm on a Dillon 650 and see no reason for the hollow points. The gun was designed for FMJ. I like keeping my guns the way Mr. Gal intended, except for the feed ramp, of course.

Blue skies.

My vector will be a Group Industries receiver. According to the UPS tracking site, I will have my vector on 8-11-04!!!!! I like the idea of the ventilated barel shroud, thanks for the link. You mentioned a "heavy trigger". Do you know about what the pull weight is on your vector? Any way to lighten it up, say a smooth 5 or 6 lbs??

I got my full-size SA about a month ago and love it. The stock removes easily with just a screw driver. Have not shot hollow points yet, but have been told they will feed fine. The barrel change is a 30 second operation.

The trigger pull is firm, maybe 8 pounds on a my Semi Vector at a guess, but it is very consistent and smooth and I can't anticipate when it is going to fire absed on trigger pull. I personally don't think you will need a lighter trigger, as this is an SMG, not a precision rifle by any means, and if heavy trigger pull bothers you the loaded weight is going to kill you after a few magazines! ;)

Glockdude1, I do not know the the trigger pull weight on my SA Vector UZI. I do not know of any way to lighten the trigger pull. It is still easy to shoot.

Blue skies.
