Anyone here know who was the member here many years ago that made the Swedish practice ammo barrels?

There was a member here who made Uzi barrels for the Swedish practice ammo with the 5mm steel BB.

I bought one his barrels and they work very well. I was wondering if any more were made from then until now?

I think maybe it was fuautos?

I finally remembered the one I bought my barrel from, it was Louis Morales.

I did a member search and it turned up nothing.

Anyway, if anyone has contact info for Louis, please send it to me or post it here. I'd like to buy another one of his Uzi fullauto practice ammo barrels.
Thanks.

It appears he hasn't been active here since 2008, but the last known information (from this site) is:

Had a member here make a version of this barrel for me a few years back.
Ran great!!
Good thing, too, cause I have a sh!t ton of that ammo!!!

I could try to contact him and see if he's interested in making one.
It may have just been an exercise in metal work for him at the time, but you never know....

No harm in asking. Thanks.

Sorry, did someone suddenly find a truckload of this ammo somewhere? I wanted to get in on it back then but only had a full size SA. Now that I at least have an SBR I'd be in for one if I could get it turned down to fit and I could get the ammo. It would sure be great to let my friends just blast away (they never seem to understand just how expensive it gets to take them to the range).

I don't think you'll find any abundance of it being sold commercially. What is still out there is being sold off on GB or other sites for high prices.
The stripper clips alone are selling for up to $4 each.
Most of that training ammo that is still around is in the hands of guys who bought it back when it was widely available and cheap and they stacked it deep for cheap shooting.

I'm still sitting on a few cases of it and have one barrel to shoot it out of but was just looking for another for my other Uzi. I've painted the front of the barrel Ford Blue so it is readily identifiable, even though the front of the barrel is turned down to a blunt taper as opposed to the regular crown on a standard 9mm Uzi barrel.
I also painted the tops of the ammo cans that contain the practice ammo the same Ford Blue and about a dozen mags are painted up to the point where they meet the bottom of the grip.
I never let anyone load the mags for that training ammo as I don't want someone loading an actual 9mm ball round as that would be catastrophic if it were fired in a subgun with the practice barrel.
As I shoot up the training ammo, I reload the strippers with regular 9mm.

Also, the days of letting my friends shoot up my ammo are long over. If they want to shoot and participate in the fun, they can buy their own ammo.

I have a factory practice barrel for the Swedish K. The gun always seems a lot more "choppy" when shooting the practice ammo . Sadly the steel BBs hardly register hits - even in dirt - so it's a lot less fun (for me). It is a fun cheap noisemaker and I am "making" more stripper clips.

I often wonder just what's in the pulverized black molded "bullet". Pretty sure that it would need a California "Prop 60" (or whatever) warning label. I try not to breathe too much if it (LOL).

I think I saw pictures of your barrel back in the day. I remember seeing a picture of one where the front looks rounded and it's painted blue anyway. Do you use a loader to load the mags directly from the stripper clips? Why'd you paint the mags? So you only use those with the practice ammo? I guess that's a good way of doubling up on safety.

Yeah, I tell my friends now that they have to provide their own ammo and they usually lose interest. I have one friend who did give me the $$$ to buy 1K of standard ball 9mm to go to the range, but I haven't been able to schedule a range trip yet so it's just sitting here with his name on it. Once we're there, I may let him shoot some of my subsonic out of a suppressor and trade him ammo two for one. :D

Yes, "doubling up on safety" is the desired situation.
I painted the mag bottoms because if I bring the practice stuff to the range, I keep it on a separate table with the dedicated ammo, barreled gun and mags and can see at a glance that that only those mags are being put into the gun.
Blue can top, blue barreled gun, blue mag bottoms, makes it easy. I also make it VERY CLEAR that only the practice ammo can be fired from that particular gun with the blue barrel.

Yes, I do load some of the mags directly from the stripper clips with C3 Rapid loader but I do have some loose practice ammo that I removed from some stripper clips in blue topped cans also.
I removed some practice ammo from a couple of cases so I'd have some clips to load regular 9mm ball ammo into.

I'll post a picture of all the items in blue later today.

I get pretty decent accuracy with the barrel I have, made for the Uzi. I used to staple white paper plates to a backstop made of Homasote so there was no ricochet hazard, and could hold all rounds in the plate at about 40 feet.

I don't know what the BB holder material is but it works pretty well. Everything in the world that is sold in Kalifornia requires a warning label.?
