If anyone here has adapted their 380 to run a 9mm can, how do you like it? Is it too unwieldy? Is it quiter than on your 9mm?

I'm in the mkt for a 380 mac, but don't feel like buying a dedicated suppressor.

I'd guess that those who do run .380 on fullauto use a 9mm can. My friend runs a CAC380 on his M11a1, but if I recall correctly he sent his Bowers suppressor back to Tom to be recored with 9mm baffles. The difference in sound suppressor should be minimal at most.

Unless you already have one I’d go with the M11/9 as I run .380 out of mine on a 9mm can. Just swap out the barrel and ammo everything else is the same, same mags & bolt & can.

i just got my Maretta,GA M11 Can back from KGB. I had it made into 9mm when he redid it and switch the threads to 1/2 x 28

havent tried it yet, but it may be something you may be interested in doing to keep the authentic mac 11 look

yes you can use a 380 on a 9mm can...

i shoot everything out of my octane .45 can and the noise difference is like 1-2 decibel when you look it up shooting 9mm through a 45 can...

I use an Octane 9 on my M11/380. I have several uppers.
1- with a ILWT 3 lug barrel and 3 lug adapter
1- with a short 380 barrel threaded 1/2 x28
1- with a M11/9 9mm barrel with 1/2 x28 adapter
1- with a OEM 380 barrel that I had a custom 5/8 x11 adapter made for the Octane 9

Don't bother getting a can dedicated to the original thread pitch on either the M11 & M11A1 or the M11/9. Just get a 9mm can with 1/2x28 and run it on a modern upper. The original upper is for sitting in the original box.

Thanks guys. I have a 9mm coastal can already for my dual-caliber m10, so an adapter seems like the best choice.

I like the m11 380 over the m11/9 due purely to the short stroke/micro size. (Plus I'm on the Lage list for the 380 version of m11/15

I guess that means I gotta call Coastal Gun and ask them to make me a three-lug end cap. I'm getting tired of having to grab the cans to keep them tight... (That's what she said.)

Edit: wait, Slain, where's your RR? Still in jail??

BR NIB that looks awesome. I need to do that with my MAC can. How much was it with the new baffle stacks and changing the threads? I would love to hear your thoughts on it after you shoot it. I especially want to know how tight the can stays on and if you still need to hold it by the can during mag dumps.

I'm using a Wraith XL Q.D. 9mm can on my .380. Works just fine.

$445 to rebuild/adapter/ship back...ive got nutty money into that can now..i could buy 2 cans for what i have into this can

the nomex cover was an extra i didnt know about...nice

i shoot all my cans with normal threads....tighten after every mag or crank them on hard/use teflon tape...

i most likely wont test it until its out of jail in 10 months

it WAS a 380 can, now a 9mm.....not sure if anyone makes a 380 can anymore...no reason to?

I thought that Clyde (Coastal Gun) had closed the business and moved to Alaska? Just checked the website and it is still up. I sent him an email to find out. I have 6 or 7 of his cans.

Additional info added 3/26:

Coastal Gun did close down last year when Clyde moved. But one of the other guys is still making and servicing that product line. The new company is Atlantic Coast Machine, LLC.
