Well looks like the forum is a little slow.

Haven't shot my M50 since I broke my Christie pin. No ill will I am certain it is my gun. Replaced with a spare steel one and it has sat.

900 rpm of .45 is hard to replace these days. May pull it out and just put 50rds semi auto through her for a work out.

Also agonizing over what to do with my blown fin in the comp. ordered and received one of the heavy duty replacements but the only way it would look good is to have the whole gun reparked, but it is an original marine corp gun.

Collector in me says leave it, but can't help but think it will look better fixed.

Thanks

I've shot mine a couple times, more worried about cleaning it than the ammo.

I can't remember the last time I shot my reising. I don't have as much time to shoot lately. Glad you brought it up though, because I'll make sure to take it next time I go out.

You know, I've got ammo, and mags, and spare parts. And I think the only times I even bring the Reising out are when I'm shooting Knob Creek. And since I only make it there once every 2 or 3 years, that gun doesn't see much light of day. In fact, I think the last time I shot it may have been my last time at the Creek, which was Fall 2012.

If I could get my Uzi closed-bolt setup to work with the slow-fire mods, I might end up selling the Reising and getting some other subgun... maybe.

But that's not likely to happen any time soon.

I will also say it seems that prices have advanced significantly over the last year. I see Ruben has M50's for $5500.

Crazy.

Still something lovable about the underdog SMG.

First post (IIRC) Well, I'm 13+ months from getting #S53xx from an out of state individual - & I paid $3500. Mine is a project gun with some probs (f/a all the time - that's a "prob"?!?!?!?) that is fortunately no USMC war relic I feel free to mod at will. We're in an unknown MG bubble that may not last or might. I just finished reading 12 pages of UT on Reisings from '04 up - now I REALLY can't wait!!! I have an HK51, an M2 Carb w/ issues, the MAC family & supposedly, shortly my Shrike - 7+ yrs after I sold my RDIAS M16 (which was the only reason I bought an M16 for, ever, in any event.) I already left messages on the new bbl thread and w/ bblexchange - and found L & even C TSMG drums if that fails. I didn't shoot recently, but have imposed a new policy: shoot newly acquired ammo only and make everyone bring their own. Other than that, only a recent retirement, recent annoying med prob and searching for land away from hellhole burbs in DFW - and amazing rain storms flooding my lease - have kept me from shooting. Go buy 4-5 boxes, take a bolt action or a cheaper pistol and get out there! Remember, better the flash from a single cartridge than the darkness!

Welcome to the forum Wayne.

At least you've got a few other NFA toys to play with in the waiting time. Hopefully the transfers will take less time than expected. You may want to apply for a C&R FFL, and save yourself some time(and probably money) by having the gun transfer directly to you. The $30 for the C&R will more than pay for itself by saving one transfer tax.

Good luck!

Ran 100 rounds on the 4th. Try to shoot it every July 4th.
Kind of a "FREEDOM" thing.

I haven't shot since I was back home in the states in May. I couldn't take any of my weapons to my assignment in Japan, however are plenty of other things to do here. Also glad I stocked up on ammo last summer in preparation for my overseas assignment. I think I'm good for a couple of years worth of shooting when I get back to the states in a couple of years.
