Yes, I know.I am a cheap frick for not getting something factor HundtK but I really wasn't looking to spend that much on this one.

I did get a Century AP5... supposedly built on HK tooling... that just doesn't have real fluid function, When operating the charging handle or cycling the action.

Other than lubricating it like a greased pig, is there anything I can do to smooth up the action?

I've got probably 500 rounds through it.Mostly fired suppressed.

Shoot more? They tend to 'wear in.' Do you have much experience with the platform? I wouldn't say the MP5 is 'clunky,' but it isn't exactly the smoothest charging gun...it DOES shoot smoothly, though.

Shoots great. Charging is not smooth like other PCCs I got.

I totally field stripped mine. Cleaned and scrubbed it all down with electrical contact cleaner and wet patches. Got that factory preservative all cleaned out. Then flushed it with REM-oil then cycled it manually about 200 times while watching tv. Then wiped it down good, flushed it out again and it cycled totally smooth. Went and ran it wet at the range.

Did all that lighten the trigger pull ?

Suoer Safe mode is 10+ lbs in mine. Semi is 4-5 lbs.

My trigger is smoother and lighter since I added all that extra stuff to it to make it super safe.
I don't know anything about the AP5 stuff accept what I have read on the internet.
It is made on HK tooling, in turkey by child labor, and can or can not have poor fitting & finish issues.
And only know a bit about HK from two friends I'd consider experts.
Both board members here.

You can see my setup in the super safety review thread pg. 7
Not much to it though since it was just a bit of troubleshooting to get it up and running.

Only advice I can offer is make sure it goes together right or you will bend possibly break stuff.
I've read a number of posts with that happening from other SP5 & clone SS users.

Talked to the SS designer, Radiata.

He told me not to hand cycle the bolt closed, but "slap" it closed.

And its very much inproved. Maybe a 5 lb trigger pull..

One way to quickly smooth out the "feel" of an MP-5 when charging .....especially the MKE guns, is to slightly radius/polish the surface on the bolt carrier that initially contacts the hammer. I've seen many of these surfaces so sharp they leave "scars" on the hammer face. It doesn't take much.

If your cocking tube gap is too small, it will contribute to difficult charging
