The ATF is currently reconsidering the restrictions on Suppressors as well as the importation of semi automatic rifles manufactured outside the United States. Hoping this will finally open the door to import FN FNC's and other arms from abroad. While it's unlikely we will see any of these guns imported from Belgium, countries such as Indonesia or Sweden may soon be willing to supply us with much needed parts.

Hey Jim, thanks for the update. I wonder how long the review might take. It would be great to avoid the stamp on the few cans I have in the pipeline. Why do you think there may not be any guns imported from Belgium?

Thx,
Tall

You will not see FN import any complete FNC rifles, it will never happen. They don't even want to send over parts for current firearms, forget the FNC. Pindad is interested in selling parts, forget Sweden they do not want to send over AK5 stuff. The stuff that gets over here is done so very stealthy.

They just want to make money on the firearms only. And trust me I hang over on the FN board, people are finding a hard time getting parts for many FN guns, including current production stuff like the Scar and even their pistolas.

I think that it might have something to do with the UN global gun ban/initiative and keeping track or making sure that only responsible gov'ts having the ability to keep their FN guns running. So only qualified end users can keep their product functioning.

They even screwed the owners of the FS2000. A couple of years ago they were going to discontinue that rifle, but when they saw the inventory of spare parts, they went and assembled as many as they could from the parts inventory and shipped them over.

Kramer is probably right

You are no doubt correct in your opinion about Sweden and Belgium. However, I have no doubt we will be able to import parts from Pindad. Indonesia is a very poor country. If they can export them legally they will. All we need is someone here to fill out the paperwork for the importation permit. I'm very optimistic if ATF lightens the regs on imports. If they allow AK's and AR's to be imported again they will have no recourse other than allow the FN's.

I totally agree with jimdet here.

Thank you for volunteering yourself.
We are all behind you 100%. Just let us know the prices when your first shipment gets here. :)

Importing parts from Pindad

I spend a lot of time in that area of the world. My wife is from Vietnam. However, it's not likely that I will be opening an import business anytime soon. We just sold our restaurant last June and at 66 years old I'm too old to start a new business. But I can assure you that if the rules change on importing guns and parts that it would certainly be a worthwhile endeavor for one of you younger guys. Be very careful though ever in that part of the world, especially Indonesia. Some very dangerous people there.

I think it was a member here that said "The ATF giveth and the ATF taketh away".

Or something like that.

My advice, better one bird in your hand as ten birds in the sky.
Get any part you can find now.
Belgian Army is destroying there spares under supervision. FN is not producing FNC parts for a decade. There stock is empty.
Sweden has 20 AK5 in civilian hands, so, don't think they gonna do an effort. It's not worth the political risks.
The Pindad boys. I don't trust any guy over there with my money.
I got ripped for a simple Pindad bayonet sold by a local.

I believe the bottom line is and always will be the relatively small number of FN FNC rifles that are in the USA. That number can not justify the economics of scale that are necessary to bring spare parts into the country. As an owner of FNCs, I would love to be proven wrong.

If they change policy wording now, they can change policy wording later. That's my point.

Which is why I like congress and the president to make and sign laws, and not some alphabet agency, or even the attorney general of the US, which technically he/she can also do since the 1968 gun control junk determining what is "sporting", even though the word never appeared in the Constitution or the Bill of Rights.
