I must start by saying that over the past several years I placed about half a dozen orders through robertrtg.com and was generally satisfied with my experience however my recent experience was very different.

I will let you decide if RTG parts acted in good faith and if you want to shop from there in the future.

I placed an order on 21 December for 5 25rd uzi magazines for $9.95 each. At the time that I placed the order and for several days afterwards the website continued to list these magazines in stock, however approximately a week after I placed my order these magazines were listed as out of stock on the website. I sent robertrtg an e-mail on 8 January informing him that if he preferred he could ship me 32rd magazines in place of the 25rd magazines that I had ordered. I received no reply to this email.

I received an e-mail from RTG parts on 11 January, which was apparently directed to everyone who ordered 25rd Uzi magazines during this time, telling me that I had two options regarding my order: 1. I could cancel the order or 2. I could have the order changed to 32rd mags for $11.95 each.

I replied saying that I would prefer to have the 32rd mags but that I did not think he should charge me the difference because I was a long term loyal customer and good business practice would compel him to ship me the alternative item. I then told him that if he wanted to he could charge me the additional $2 per magazine but that I would preferentially shop from other venders in the future.

I received a reply email telling me that he would have 25rd magazines in 4-6 weeks. I told him that he should charge me the extra money and that I would buy 25rd magazines from a different vender in the future.

RTG parts response was to cancel my order, which I perceive to be extremely poor customer service and business practice.

In the past I had several good experiences with this site but it is obviously that the person that runs it puts his profit above customer loyalty and seems to have a general lack of character.

Obviously you are free to shop where you like, however I wanted to share this experience with you and encourage you to first look elsewhere for your gun parts needs as there are many other places that do business with integrity that are much more customer oriented.

Email chain below (note I removed the contact info for both parties):

XXXX,
Why don’t you buy your 32rd mags from them also? The last thing we have time for is whining emails threatening to buy elsewhere. Do it now. Your order has been voided. Aloha
Thank you

I'll just take the 32rd mags now. Assuming there is no change in the law I am sure many stores/websites will have 25rd mags in a few weeks/months. I'll get my 25rd mags from one of them at a later time.

RTG Parts,
I would prefer to complete the order with 32rd magazines, however as a long time customer I think that you should ship the 32rd magazines for the price that I ordered the 25rd magazines at. If this is not possible feel free to charge me the additional two dollars per magazine and complete my order, but please understand that this will cause me to first look elsewhere, in the future, before turning to RTG parts for my gun part needs. Please let me know if you require anything else that you require from me.
Very Respectfully,
XXXX

Subject: Uzi 25rd Magazines

To Whom It May Concern,
Unfortunately we are unable to complete your order as placed at this time. Our Uzi 25rd Magazines are currently out of stock. We apologize for the delayed notification to you regarding this issue. Your card has not been charged.

We made it a point to fill every possible order in the order in which it was received to ensure that those who purchased first received any on-hand inventory. Regrettably we have reached the end of our current supply.

At this time we can offer you the following options:
1.) We can substitute Uzi 32rd Magazines for $11.95 each (sales price at the time of your order)
2.) We can cancel your entire order

Please let us know how you wish to proceed.

I didn't know you could own high capacity pistol magazines in Hawaii?

Cole, you've been here since '05 and your first post is complaining about service, from a decent parts provider. Whiskey, tango, foxtrot?
Anyway, my experience for rtg parts has always been positive over the past 10 years. Only a few times have I had to wait for back-ordered items, and communication was excellent. However, I never asked them to send me higher priced items as compensation for them being out of stock on the item I wanted. I'll continue to support them, especially since they aren't trying to rape people on prices like, say, "cheaper-than-dirt".

Whiskey, tango, foxtrot? it is my first post period.

MEDPHYS: High Capacity pistol mags are illegal in Hawaii, but since Uzi pistols are illegal here Uzi mags are not considered pistol mags.

My dealings with RTG have always been good ones, but then again i've never demanded something at a discount because they were out of stock on something I wanted.......

past two cattle-guards, at the end of the gravel r
RTG has always been good to go. I have bought many $$$$ in parts, parts kits, and mags from him over the past few years with excellent service.

I would chalk it up to post-Lanza gun buying craziness and pay the listed price for 32 round mags. You can't expect him to keep a gun website inventory up to date immediately after our President saying he would EO an AWB.

Respectfully
RFA

I told him that I would pay the extra money but that in the future that I would first look to other suppliers if he chose to charge me the difference (since his website said that they were in stock for about a week after I placed my order). I am upset that he canceled my order.

After he canceled the order I ordered 8 mags from keepshooting.com for $13 each, they had about 1,000 in stock last night.

I too have had several good experiences with this vendor, I just wanted to share this last one.

Thank you for reading my post!

i cant blame a guy for trying to make money but has anyone else noticed the price on RTGs 32 round mags creep up in increments since a few weeks ago? ;)
9.95, 10.95, 11.95 and now 14.95

glad i got in at the 10.95 mark!
they were however, the best condition "used" 32 round mags ive ever seen (meaning god damn perfectly new and flawless!)

I've never had a problem with RTG. He has good products at good prices. We are talking about and additional $2 per magazine, not exactly a fortune.

You gotta admit the "Your order has been voided. Aloha" part is pretty funny.

Huh, just before the craziness started I ordered the 50 pack of mags from RTG and am very pleases. Like most folk's experience I got 48 virtually new mags and two rough old cobs. At $5.80 per mag broken down with shipping included I couldn't be happier.

I've had uniformly good dealings with RTG. I do see the park-tank mag special is gone. And, yes, 32s are now more pricey. I do not fault RTG for any of this. Possibly, some enterprising soul bought out all the park-tank mags?

When the customer tells the seller how to remedy an incorrect sale what type of repsonse did you expect from Robert? The email you sent left him in a position of you demanding something he did not have to honor in anyway. This happens every day with anything you purchase. I would move on and get over it. Robert made a more than fair attempt to correct the error. The cost of mags going up woulda coulda shoulda.

Take it easy

I've always had good experiences and received good stuff (Uzi mags, Makarov mags, MG42 stuff) from Robert. Be realistic; all gun related businesses are swamped right now, and some of them (like Robert's) are ma and pa operations that don't have fancy automatic inventory updates on their web pages.

He gets parts that are nearly impossible to find anyplace else (some of the MG42/MG3 stuff), and in my experience always does right, even if sometimes terse. But then, he's in business, not running a circle jerk club. Hell there are some gun businesses right now that won't even answer e-mails.

You whine FOR A TEN DOLLAR DIFFERENCE?! Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot....

RTG is the only company I have sent unsolicited positive feedback to for the outstanding experiences I have had dealing with them.

RTG is damn good in my book. I bet you use skin moisturizer on your hands.

They are out of the 50 packs?

I have ordered 3 50 packs over the last few years.
Only really had to repark 10 mags out of 150 of them.

I still have 51 mags left I was using these to trade for reloading stuff @ the gun shows. and split a pack with another board member.

RTG has always been a solid dealer with me. but I haven't bought anything in the last year or so from him so I can't speak for the quality of his "surplus" today.

I would however throw money his way if I needed something from him.
