I see on newsclips and on YouTube videos of Belgian soldiers carrying FNCs. I thought their military switched to the SCAR or another type of next generation rifle. Does anyone have any info on this? Paco? Just curious. Thanks in advance.

Maybe the transition takes a while? I have heard the same with other countries and rifles. For example, Israel is still using a lot of M16s despite the Tavor being in servic3e for a long time.

Hi,
The army is reorganising there weapons. Before soldiers can use there new scars, they all need to follow and pass basic rifle course. Changing a gunplatform takes time. New materials, manuals, training, armorerscourses and so one. So, recently the Belgian Army is guarding public places. The take there FNC to be sure no incidents will happen.

Several units have received there new scars, F2000 and 5.7 pistols. Give it some time...

Let me also say it is higly unusual to see our soldiers guarding city's.
Regulary they guard airfield and nuclear plants. Not the Jewish quarters in Antwerp...

The Jewish community in Antwerp was complaining that the Belgian Paratroopers that were sended to protect there building need to remove there green scarfs. They look like the White "Arafat" scarfs...

I think that everybody that has served in East know what scarfs i mean.

Some folks try real hard to make'm popular...:thinking
Here is the news link: http://www.hln.be/hln/nl/32616/Terr...ara-s-moeten-arafatsjaal-terug-opbergen.dhtml

By the way, it is snowing in Belgium and it is freezing there balls off...

So with the switch to SCARs, any chance we will see FNCs sold as surplus....we need some parts kits here in the US.

not in the first million years...
They rather destroy it as selling it...

example. The police of the city aarschot destroyed there only P90 MP.
I asked to sell it to me at full refund. no can do
Ok, let me nutralise(demil) it at full refund, no can do
can i buy the assecories and box, nope...
Ammo? nope destroyed, not even concidering to give it to an other unit...
So, they pay money to get rid of it.

Sux big time

That's very unfortunate. Wonder if FN would ever consider taking in the FNCs in trade, then figure a way to import them into the US in neutered sporter form or as parts kits. What a waste to demil functioning firearms.

I highly doubt FN going to fool around trying to demil fnc for the little bit of money they will get in return
