anyone had issues with the fast fire 3??

i had issues with the battery cover...it has ONE thread on it....the location is just odd too.....i had trouble threading it back on..kept popping off....i had it on my .22 and after a couple of shots it turned off....messed with the battery, got it going again then off again......i sent the stupid thing back to amazon.com and got another Trijicon for $290.......

i think its just a bad idea to put a battery in such a small space and even more stupid to give it 1 thread....it couldnt even handle a .22

im sure i just got a dud, but figured id get out of the deal while i could...

i know this is a popular red dot here...but i dont think many of you have the 3 model

be warned

I have 2 ff3s. Have not had a problem with either. One resides on a 11.5" m16 and the other on a mp5. Think ive had tgem 5 years or so.

Love mine. Want more for other guns.

Too bad you got a 4:30pm Friday unit.

I have one also. Putting the battery cover back on is insanely hard for what it is.

Richard..do you have the version w the battery on top?

i had to try multiple times to get it to thread in....i think the big design flaw is the 1 thread...if it went deeper w/ a couple of threads it would be easier...you think you had it threaded and it would wobble......i had it threaded in correctly and it still wouldnt work....it was 2 weeks old and the first time at the range....reminded me of the $60 Bushnell red dot that did the same thing...you would hit it and it would flicker on/off....could have been a bad battery or a broken unit....

having the battery on top has advantages, but in this case the way they did it with such a shallow plug i think its more of a disadvantage.....

I have both FF2 and FF3s. I have never seen a FF3 that the battery cover does not screw down tight.

I've got a FF3 on my Saiga 12 as well. It handles the abuse just fine, but getting the battery screw cover started is a chore.

they gave me my $$ back in a day w/ no argument....

very happy with my new trijicon sight

i prefer the battery hidden under neath...the always on is a bit odd though...but its on my .22 pistol which will see a lot of use anyways

Fwiw, I can get the cover to start screwing down on the fast fire 3 a bit easier by pressing down and unscrewing it until it pops down, then the threads will be lined up, and then I go clockwise too tighten it down. This way is allot easier to avoid cross threading and it takes allot less swearing.

I have had my FF3 on my semi UZI, my AR15 (offset sights for open) and my Ruger 22/45. Never had an issue. I even know guys that have them riding on the slide of their 9mm pistols. I use the same method as Mackjack for screwing the cover back on.

i used a screw driver and went back wards waiting for the click to know i got it lined up....i never heard that click....it would go crooked 90% of the time...then it flickered a few times, then went off, never to come back on....and this is with the battery cover down..

i dont think i will be buying another....like the trijicon much more....

Yea. I'm not impressed myself either. If I got another one for something I'd try a different brand

i own a trijicon on my FNX already...so i know its a great optic...i just wanted to save a few bucks on the Burris

the only cheaper red dot ive been impressed with is the Vortex Sparc AR.....between me and my son we own 3 and i have nothing neg. to say about it..$150 on ebay and it never fails....bright as hell....

i like eotechs....but an eotech on a .22 pistol or grey ghost upper isnt going to look right....

Easily could have a bent contact. Bend it back. Try again.
