Not as long of a shot as you would think :)
Tyler I am all for CNCW making gas blocks, in fact I would offer up my R4 gas block so CNCW can cast or gauge the measurements to make a production R4 gas block happen. The fact is what I am seeing on this thread are that people are all over the place wanting Sniper, ARM,R4, R5, SAR and RK95 gas blocks which are all different for CNCW to make. This will only drive costs up and make production times much longer. I think the direction we need to head in would be to settle on one type of gas block for now so we can generate a order to be placed with CNCW. Then we can go from there on the next type of gas block. I know it can be done, just look back on the CNC Warrior Galil receivers.

Hello Icastillo,
As we said in the beginning, the point was to gauge interest in which type Galil gas block would be most popular, and we'd narrow it down from their.
So naturally, the desires are "all over the place".
That's good.
But, in narrowing it down, it looks so far like the Sniper gas blocks are very much in demand, around 75% of the total for the AR, ARM, and SAR combined.
I'd love to see them do those Sniper blocks, and would definitely order 3-5 of those.
But personally, if they do just one type, I think they'd be better off, and the Galil community in general, would be better off, doing the ARM, as the AR, and SAR, could be easily modified from that ARM block.
As for the SA R-series blocks, I don't personally think there's enough of a calling to make that the one and only block they make.
For now though, instead of debating whether or not it's possible, I think we should just assume they can do it, like Blackthorne did (only much better), and see if anyone can send a sample of those gas block types, so they can begin to make their CAD models of them, and proceed on their end.
As I said, they're also going to do some Galil folding stock axle/axis pins for us.

By popular request - photos of what was sold to me as a sniper gas block.

I'm at work; so I don't have my pictures or sniper rifles with me; but something doesn't look right on that gas block including the missing hole for the front bolt that you use for mounting the hand guard.

Also; if you have a pair of calipers; could you get the dimension of the bore that mounts on the barrel?

I'll take measurements - pictures this weekend and post.

I agree with Adipose. Here is a picture of how the handguard mounts. It definitely has the ring for the mirage deflector. If we can confirm this gas block is the correct measurements to go forward with production. Count me in for 2 sniper gas blocks.

AresShrike, Greetings. I have no doubt that you can make this happen. thank you for presenting this to the members. As I said I would be willing to contribute my sample of a R4 gas block for a production model and I am SUPER excited to see member Hologon present a sample for a sniper gas block. I would say it is a turn of events here. Thanks for all your work. Lou

Actually that front ring looks to be in the correct place to mount these hand guards at standard micro galil gas tube length. Perfect! I'll take two.

I see your sniper block and raise you an RK95! :)

I would order three more of these...

The sniper barrel journal size should be close to .875"

It looks correct to me, virgin no holes New never mounted.

Front hole is for sling.

Ruddiger,
I don't think it would be profitable for CNC Warrior to do those RK-95 gas blocks.
This "survey" is really for Galil gas blocks, though the RK is very similar, most of us would prefer a Galil gas block on our Galils, but thanks for the suggestion, it could be a great idea for some.

Hey Icastillo,
As to your kind comment - I have no doubt that you can make this happen - brother, I can't make anything happen, at all. It's only through the combined "strength" of our community, that we could hope to have the "influence" on a top tier manufacturer, like CNC-W, to have any shot at making this happen.
And thanks so very much, to say the least, to those here, who will send in examples of the Sniper, AR, ARM, SAR, MAR, R4, and R5 blocks for CNC-W to make CAD models of.
I don't think they'll put all of them into production, but, at least they'll have CAD models of them all, and are that much more "ahead of the game" on those they don't believe to be their first or second choice for production, at least initially.
It's probably not necessary to say, but, the gas blocks sent should be excellent-new quality, that don't have any wear, that may effect shootability, as we don't want those to be "the model" of perfection. No shot out junk please.
We should also keep everyone on board here aware of what we're sending, so multiples of the same piece is not sent, though that may not really be a bad thing, maybe a good thing really.
thanks so much for all your help brothers, this would not be possible without you guys.

Also, CNC-W is willing to do some Galil folding stock axis/axle pins, but my spare ones are a little worn, so I don't think they'd be the best to reproduce. If anyone has a new one, please send it to them, so they could reproduce them.

Lastly, is there a difference between the IMI, and the SA R-series folding stock axle/axis pins? (all of my SA folding stocks are at the builder, so I can't check that out)
If there's a difference, please, someone, send in an R-series stock axle/axis pin (new) for them to reproduce.

Almost forget, send all items to the PO box listed on CNC Warrior's website, insured of course, and call them first to let them know you're sending it. Include your relevant information in with the item, so they know where to send it back to.

Agreed.
There's really no surplus market for the Valmet series to warrant reproduction gas blocks.
Spare parts and magazines are already non-existent for the pre-ban imports.

If there's a difference, please, someone, send in an R-series stock axle/axis pin (new) for them to reproduce.

I'd have no problem sending in some ARM/AR sample blocks, depending on which they decide to do. I also have the Axis pins (they are all the same on IMI/SA).
As I said before, there's not a very good reason to do an AR/SAR block over an ARM since the ARM can suffice for all 3 models. From a business-perspective, the ARM would also be financially a better choice since they could just remove the bipod lugs with a grinder/mill and finish per customer request, rather than setup CADs for all 3 models. It's easy to knock off the lugs, but it's not easy to add them to an AR/SAR block.

Lastly, I still think there is the problem with producing the Sniper blocks when no surplus parts exist for the Galatz aside from those compatible with the standard Galil.
I haven't seen any NIMROD scopes/mounts for sale in quite awhile, and the average price for them is over $1000. The factory stocks I have never seen for sale, and the handguards command a price over $250 when found (Bipods I have no idea). Lastly, any build using a Galatz barrel will need the longer proprietary gas-tube which is also difficult to come across.

It's understandable that some folks want the Sniper block for frankenstein builds, but I really must emphasize the practicality of producing a piece with such limited usage in a very limited market.

Thanks Mr Folgers,

I totally agree that the IMI ARM gas block would most likely be the most "profitable" gas block for them to make, as the AR, ARM, and SAR can easily be made from those. To me, far and away the number one choice, if only one choice is given.
But send in that Galil Sniper block anyway someone, please!!!!

As for the Galil Sniper gas block, it's looking very popular.
For myself, and probably a lot of other guys, it's not necessary to have an exact clone of the original rifle, though I'd really love to do that, it's really not possible.
I can "wing it" with the stock, a folding wood stock wouldn't be impossible, and scope mounts?
There are many options for scope mounts, on the receiver, or even on the top cover.
As for the barrel, I'd go with a custom SS barrel anyway, so it'd be cut to a length that the regular Galil gas tube would work, unless you're saying that the standard gas tube won't "fit" the Sniper block. That would present a problem!!
The issue of Galatz parts wouldn't be a problem, for me anyway, as all the other proprietary parts would not be needed, though that gas block sure would help!!!
I just want to make a few nice heavy barrel .308 Galils, as similar to the original Sniper "as is possible", and as seemingly a lot of other guys on this site also want Sniper blocks, I must assume they understand their builds wont be exact replicas of the original, but more along the lines of heavy barrel Galil ARM, built to their own specs.

It would be great if you could send them that new IMI ARM block, and new folding stock axis pin. Send them, if you would, to the PO box for CNC-W, but call them first, to let them know. Thanks for the info on the IMI and SA pins interchangeability.

As always, it's great to hear from you Mr Folgers. Your insight is greatly appreciated. Also, when you can, try to update your old post about the Galil parts you have available for sale, please!

Thanks Brother!
