I finally broke down and purchased a CZ SP-01 Shadow as a compliment to the Uzi. I was looking for something exceptional and unique that was a little out of the norm, and that performs without apology. The trigger is top notch and 19+1 is pretty ridiculous capacity. This was my spontaneous present to myself to sneak in an "F-You" purchase before the apparent death of new hi-cap magazine production is ushered in. I forced myself to pick up another 16 magazines to serve the thing since there's certainly no glut of them on the market.

Hey Bunker Hill... that is a Pretty piece! I got a SP-01 "tactical" last year, with five mags, and the bayonet/glass breaker...... For $400... I guess that was my once in a life deal!
I think pound for pound these are some of the nicest pistols on the market.... I am amazed they aren't more popular!
Mine is my "bump in the night" gun.... And No... I don't use the bayonet... But it might slow down a potential gun grab!

How do you like the fiber optic front sight.... Think it will hold up over time?

Thanks... And enjoy!

The lack of popularity is a mystery to me as well! I'm guessing the factory just doesn't advertise as much as others do. I can think of no finer high-capacity full-sized 9mm pistol out there. Accuracy and trigger are second to none in regard to DA/SA automatics, and second only to the 1911 overall in my opinion.

I normally swap tritium sights onto my handguns pretty quickly, but so far I see no problem with the stock fiber optic sight. If I can hit with it then I'll probably leave it as it is for now. I plan on adding a quality light to the accessory rail and utilizing this as my bump-in-the-night gun as well. After scouring the threads in this forum I ordered a Kirkpatrick TSS holster for standard carry. Can't wait to break in the whole rig!

I've carried a CZ-75 for years; mine is a pre-B model, made in '84. Hell of a gun. I've considered getting an SP01 or better yet a Pro-Tek II. Nice piece you've got there, to me beats the hell out of the popular plastic framed nonsense.

I couldn't be happier with my SP-01 Custom model. I use it in USPSA Production Class, even though you're limited to 10 rounds. BH, you have GOT to buy a Kadet .22 conversion for your pistol. I set mine up for a suppressor and it is the cats' ass!

Ooh, I hadn't really thought about it but you're right. A good .22 conversion kit for this gun would be an excellent option. Does CZ offer a threaded barrel for the kit or did you source that from another vendor?

My local SOT-- Ohio Ordnance Works-- did the job for me. It took longer than expected as they are involved in plenty of other projects. You should contact Mark McWillis at TROS Inc. He did the same barrel work on my Beretta 87 Target pistol.

P.S. No, CZ does not offer a separate threaded .22 barrel for the Kadet.
