Demoing guns to SWAT M10 steals the day

I took some demo guns POST and PRE out to a big department today, and get this. None of the SWAT guys could give a crap about the UZIs. Full size or MINI. They all had experience with MP5s and M4s, so those got little use. Every one of them wanted to shoot my MACs! I heard several "now this is what we need"....lol......No one even picked up the UMP or P90. One Sgt. picked the full size UZI up, and said " too heavy" (insert look of disgust here). The MINI got a couple glances, but I swear the MACs were like a cop magnet. Finally I guess they are going with the HK G36C. That got some abuse, but not like the old Powder Springs gun. Ingram was a God

Cop what do they Know....

Take a demo to the Ranger Special Forces or Seals and see what they pick up. It will be a whole different Story. I beleive an AK may still be their weapon of choice.

Im not surprised these ppl don’t shot for living the jest carry. I am sure Miami Vice had a lot to do with it. Another thing is that it is a novelty. The Mac's are neat little toys that really serves no purpose for police applications, because of the high cyclic rate and controllability/liabilty concerns.

As a side note:
If you own a business, would you like people shoplifting from you? And when you take your family for a ride in the car, do you want drunk drivers next to you? I don't, but I guess it is o.k. with AKman.
Now I am not gonna defend all cops as there is a percentage of idiots and/or assholes in the ranks, but there are also a lot of good people too. And even some that can shoot.

I think you guys are 100 percent right. More of a novelty thing. Plus I think they have a UZI or did, so most had experience with it. Maybe. Anyway, the MAC with VIPER-45 can gets people wanting to touch it. I also think it was more of a case of, "we already know we are getting G36Cs, lets play!" Another dealer brought a SIG 551 Commando. That was cool, but for some reason the powers that be want HK. BTW IMHO if a UZI was good enough for 20 plus years with the USSS, it should be good enough for ANY small PD.

90 % . Where do you get these numbers? Is this in mother Russia or the U.S? Too funny.
I do have an M16, but it is on a form 4 and I would never carry it at work(don't want to get too scratched up), and I would never ever "point it at a kid for not saying yes sir". This is because I would like to keep my job, it pays the bills and puts food in my kid's mouth. Maybe a little less time at the Nazi booth at the gun shows.
As for the rest of your paragraph, I can't reply because I am still confused.

I deleted my post because it seams you misinterpreting my message I it looks like my grammar is at fault in any case all I wonted to say it that your average cops don’t know shit about guns and the rely don’t need to have MG, a pistol and maybe a shot gun in car is plenty other wise the get the wrong ideas in the heads (I have nothing agents you Remo Williams there nothing wrong with providing food for you family its jest that most of the ppl that you work with are rely self riotous assholes that are not doing they jobs or that’s has bean my experience you defiantly sound like that 1 out 10 I was taking about)

No....Well kinda..We shot at a DPS target 7-10yrds from the hip. I left a little early, but the other dealer told me they later shot the crap out of a Norell 10/22 MG. Ya never know what they will want to shoot. So bring everything ya got.

Was it because the MAC had a suppressor and the others did not? Try bringing the P90 with a suppressor next time and see which they go for.

Took mine to a local private range - county and city LE there. The young ones shot the shit out of my MAC, ,the older ones just smiled.

One of them asked his boss if he could have one for his car, his boss just laughed!!!!

Some of them looked concerned about it, did not want to shoot it. When I mentioned supressors, they just shook their heads......

When given an opportunity, you want to shoot the weapons you don't work with everyday. In an Army basic training unit, I can shoot an M16 any time I want. Because of this, an M16 or AR15 is the last thing in the world I want to touch on my time off.

The MACs would get a lot of attention here too, just because everyone doesn't see them everyday.

Swat team in Broward County Florida (that's Ft. Lauderdale, etc. juts minutes north of miami) in the early 1980s used Mac 10's as swat entry weapons, too. They trained a lot on them. Was told this by an ex-swat LT from that period who used these guns.

A friend of mine's son worked for the FBI in the eighties. He had an issue Mac-10 in the trunk of his car.
