Although this is not Galil related, it could be an alternative to the Tavor, and I just wanted people to see what an astoundingly patriotic move Desert Tech, a relatively newly started company, in need of funds, did in turning down a $15 million contract with the Pakistani government, to supply their new MDR rifle.

Apparently, Desert Tech thought the Pakistani's might allow some of these rifles to fall into the hands of America's enemies, and refused the sale!!! Quite the opposite of that Presidential candidate who sold the Russians a very large percentage of America's Uranium mining rights!!!! (Let's just sell the Russians our Uranium, what can they do with that!!!!????)

May God Bless Desert Tech!

Check out that MDR, as a possible alternative to the Tavor. Yes, it's very "plastic-eee", but so is the Tavor, and the MDR looks a hell of a lot better.
I want to buy an MDR, if only to thank Desert Tech! Check out that new Desert Tech MDR!

I didn't mean to infer that the MDR was better than the Tavor, but, unlike the Tavor, in addition to the 5.56, it does come in .308, and 7.62x39, and a sbr version in 5.56, .300 blackout, and 6.8 spc.

I'm sure IMI/IWI did their homework, and got the Tavor right, and is very likely the best 5.56 bullpup out there, but, I'd just like to see Desert Tech make out well, after that extreme showing of Patriotism!

I guess the bullpup design may be the future of "assault rifles", if they can get past the awkward mag changes, and lousy triggers.

And.....the MDR looks a lot "cooler".
